As with most dance/nude clubs in Brazil, Fantasia is more expensive than the bar action or beach girls (found easily at Ponta Negra or Praia do Meio) but has a decent small club atmosphere, safe locale and is a good place to relax and have a drink (or whatever) with your choice of beautiful garotas.
Available girls run the gambit from pretty to absolutely gorgeous, 18 to 25 years old and, of course, all are available for whatever the heart and mind desires both in the club (upstairs rooms) or for "takeout". Both options come with a house fee to the club. No admission on most days, but one Friday a R$5 cover was requested (less than 2$ USD).
Girls dance in shifts that seem random and based on who is available (not busy upstairs) or in the mood to tease a bit and make a sale. At times no one is dancing at all. Drinks are fairly cheap and run around double the normal Natal bar prices (so $R3 for a beer versus the usual $R1) for a patron. Buying the girls a drink is equally reasonable at R$5 or $R10 depending upon the drink.
Club is not very large, perhaps seating for 60 or so. 10 seats at side bar and comfortable table seating all around the dance floor. Waiters speak decent english if you have problems with your Portuguese and are very helpful and attentive with all aspects of how the club works and with drink refills. DJ spins alot of American rock and Club along with some National dance tunes of Brazil mixed in. Most girls work here for a few days and then move on to another or a different location entirely (moving from Natal, to Forteleza, back to Natal, then to Recife, etc.). The action is never stale or old - always new girls about.
Once you find a girl (or girls)you like, you may sit and talk and buy a few drinks. If you're interested in going upstairs, R$40 is required to the house. R$50 to 100 to the girl for 1-3 hours depending upon the girl and your bargaining skills. If you'd like to meet the girl outside the club (bring her back to your pousada/room) the house fee is $R100. This is only if you make the mistake of telling the house of your intention. The same girls in this club can also usually be found at any one of the local hostspots/dance clubs on any given night when they are not "dancing". So, meeting outside the club is easily accomplished simply by finding out where she will be the following day or later that night and showing up there. She WILL remember you. You will also find them on weeekends all over the Ponta Negra beach front area. Find a nice place to drink/eat mid-way on the street level along the beach and let the action come to you as they parade by!
Since it's so easy to meet outside the club - this should be your preferred option as there is no hourly limit or house fees and girls will usuually stay with you all night for $R50 to 100 and all the next day, and next, and next... if you so desire. Most are a total GFE and will not request more money for this if they like you. I had to tell many that is was time for them to go so I could go get another. All for less than an average $30 USD.
Like everything in Brazil, haggle and bargain for best price for everything both in and out of the club - it's expected. A girl that asks for R$150 may go for R$50 - it's all up to you and your skills in both language and bargaining for your best deal. After-all it IS a business transaction when it comes right down to it, so treat it as such until the deal is finalized.
During the day the club is fairly deserted (if open at all which seemed random as well). Evenings and nights are always a better bet. They're closed on Sundays.
Overall, Isla Fantasia is a good place to relax whether you're looking or not or after you've had enough dancing and want to sit and window shop garotas at 4am on a Thursday! Your best bet is to check the place out after 12am, find a girl you like, then find out where she will be or arrange to meet her outside the club without their knowledge and avoid the house fees. The girls are open to this as well and may even suggest it since they know they will get a better atmosphere, more time to have fun with you, perhaps a few decent meals and some days away from their homelife with an American. Club Closes at 5am if you want to wait for your girl to finish "work" and meet her then.
Americans are rare in Natal. By and far most travelers here are European. Alot of Italians, Germans and Swedes. This seems true because there are no direct flights (yet) to Natal from the USA and total travel time from the USA runs an average of 24 hours. So, an American here is a unique ocurrance and one which the girls seem to relish! Also, the dollar continues to be strong in Brazil and your money will go a long long way for such beautiful surroundings and gorgeous women! Brush up on your portuguese - English speakers are rare here.
