I went to this place recently and was just happy to be able to leave without falling down the metal spiral stairway.

For anyone who has not been there, there is nothing on the ground floor and the only method of getting to the second floor is spiral stairway. It is wide enough to hold one person, so traffic can only move one-way at a time.

It is apartment-room style termas and may be worth checking out -- just not on a Friday and while it is raining out.

This place is still alive and kicking.. and fucking insane. All 5 floors are "bars" with girls. The description of the one way spiral staircase from 5 years ago still holds true.. Saw nothing interesting on the first 4 floors, and found a hot little brace faced spinner on 5. R$20 for 15 minutes R$50 for 30 min. I got there early so the sheets were still clean.

I still feel dirty though.

Thanks for the update. This place has been going forever. I just checked one of my earlier trip reports/guides dated July 30, 2003, and see I reported on it then. At the time it had been open for a while, but no one would have bet it would still be open eight years later.

It doesn't sound like it changed much either, including the firetrap stairs (and I presume still broken elevator). I suspect the one person getting rich off of the place is the building/fire inspector.
