All I can say is wow. . . :-)

People have been discussing this shit for years. I remember reading about that guy Duesberg in Spin magazine of all places in the early 90's. Every monthly issue, it would include an article claiming to expose the real deal with AIDS & HIV. If I remember right, the magazine caught quite a bit of flak for those articles; after all, it was just an "alternative music" rag putting out interviews on Kurt Cobain and the like. Who the hell were they to consider themselves an authority on AIDS?? Plus with their young readership, people were freaking that it would give out the wrong idea. . . you know, you're not going to die if you have unprotected sex, heh :-)

All this shit is too convoluted for me. You just have to accept you'll never really get to the bottom of it. A lot of these researchers have their own agendas, i.e., maximize funding for their projects, promote their careers, etc. Plus, NOTHING is as clear cut or open-shut in science and medicine as it may appear to be at first. Just look at all those studies. A med that was first thought to be OK now doesn't seem so cool. Or a nutrional study shows that a certain food that was considered healthy, good to eat is now not so yummy. On and on this shit goes. . .

I guess some people are willing to accept some risk for what they're getting in return. As long as you get tested often enough (to protect your future bedmates) and don't whine if you actually contract something, then I suppose it's cool.

Drip007, thanks for taking the time to write that post. It only proves what is now increasingly being claimed, that the entire HIV/AIDS environment in this country is more hype than proven facts. I am convinced that advocates for gay groups used this terrible disease for their own agenda of being seen as "normal". As such everything has radiated outward with a bias. If it is true that the virus has not spread continually into the general population then AIDS is something you get from specific behavior common to only certain groups. This doesn't lessen the tragedy that has fallen upon gays and druggies but it certainly makes a mockery out of all the rhetoric and billions spent.

I am kind of shocked that the rate of bareback sex in garotas de programas is so high.

Tight Fit, No problem. I feel the same way. While there are many terrible things one can contract from bareback sex, (not to mention getting a girl pregnant), all of the fearmongering that has gone on for the last decade or two is entirely unnecessary in my book. Scaring the bejesus out of the entire heterosexual world just aint right. People should be able to enjoy responsible, consensual sex without fearing for their lives.
