Costa Verde is famous for their seafood. In fact, their Sunday Buffet is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for biggest variety. It was a $1.70 cab ride to Costa Verde. If I was a cabbie, I wouldn't do it for $10. The roads sucked big time. It was a little early for dinner in Lima (things start late there), but the boss lady sat me down, told me that the buffet was Sunday only, and talked to me about what I wanted. I wound up with a seafood assortment -- both hot and cold that was very good, ranging from cebiche to a mixed seafood salad to scallops in their shell, baked with cheese. It was my only dish, and I walked away full and satisfied. The tab only ran to $18.57, including soda and an extra tip. RECOMMENDED, probably the Sunday deal would kill you.

RT here. I hit the Sunday Brunch buffet at Costa Verde 30 November, 2008 with two friends.
The setup is nice: large windows look out upon the cliffs and the ocean, there's a stage in the middle of the room with both a folklore show and a very pretty mistress of ceremonies/singer to look at, they have a large supply of international flags to denote where you're from, and lots of really good food.
They claim to be in the Guiness book for the most types of food on a Sunday Brunch. I don't know if that's true, but they do have plenty.
We arrived at 1:30, ate ourselves silly, and watched the show until it ended at 4:00 pm. We waddled back to the hotel and passed out for a few hours, and didn't feel the need to eat again until Monday afternoon.
Brunch wasn't cheap. The tab for three of us, including 3 complimentary welcome drinks and a pitcher of chicha morada (we later found out that they would pour you all the chicha you wanted by the glass for free, but pitchers cost 10 Soles), and additional tip was just around 300 Soles (slightly under US$100). Extravagant by Peruvian standards, but a bargain from an American's mindset, what with significantly inferior Sunday brunches in South Florida running $40-$75.
They also offer some sort of "Lonche Buffet" from 5:00 to 7:30 on weekdays. God only knows what they serve there.
The phone numbers on their post card are 477-5228, 247-1244 and 477-0010. We called for reservations, but there were tables available the day we went (but not a lot of them, and not near the stage). Their website is http://www.restaurantcostaverde.com/

I didn't want to tell you about the crab claws when you were in Ft. Lauderdale -- I knew it would break your heart.
I can see a Sunday in Lima in March, however...
