I will be going to Cartagena and Barranquilla in August and would be willing to do a side trip to anywhere that I could go for soccer or bullfighting. Last time I went to Cali I took in a soccer match (by accident, didn't plan around a schedule, it just happened that they had one). I used to go with family to Bullfights when I was a kid in mexico border towns but they are extremely rare anymore, if at all. I'm just looking for anything, anywhere, during the month of august: soccer or bullfighting. Fighting roosters aren't out of the question either. I'd rather nobody get moralistic on me about the ethics of this. Just drive around any small town in Texas and see the little doghouses or half barrels with the roosters tied by the leg sitting outside. Those aren't animal rescue farms.

You will be out of luck for the bullfighting, I think. Too early yet but the season kicks off first of January and runs through February. In Cali it begins when the Fair ends. The opening is a BIG event.

Go to this site on El Tiempo(principal newspaper in Colombia publiched in Bogotá) and it should give you the schedule month by month in all the major cities. Just go on line can check any of the major newspapers. Usually clicking on deportes(sports) and then fútbol should give you the information you want.
A la orden,
