Of all the Rua Augusta places, the one I keep going back to is Balneario. It is not for the exclusive higher-end hombre in that the inside does look well-worn. You go down some steps to enter the place, and are greeted by a man at a desk who will ask whether you want the sauna, or just entrance. The difference is as described above and most Brasileiros who enter opt for the sauna. Once inside there is a bar, a fairly large "common area" where socializing takes place, lockers in the back, and a steam room and sauna. Lighting is relatively low, although not so much so that you cannot see whom you are talking to.

When the garotas arrive they change in the locker area, which is not private and can be seen by all. There is also a shower that also is public. The steam room is in the back, and if you go there it is reasonably likely there will be a naked garota or two among the men, sometimes trying to close a sale. I can't remember whether I have received blow jobs there as part of this process, but I have definitely been diddled in there by an attractive garota.

A reasonable percentage of the garotas will allow pictures in the rooms, and a few will go for anal for an additional R$30 (as discussed above). You can ask for a new towel after awhile; I believe they add R$2 to your bill for this.

In contrast to Casarao, which is next store, the hustle factor is low. I haven't had much pressure at all to purchase drinks for the garotas, and I don't believe the house adds a service charge to the bill, a practice at some of the other bars. There are some fine garotas here (I have had some great sessions) but also some you would rather not see.

I never would have believed it from looking at him, but I do believe Coffeemaker must have some supernatural powers. Recently, when Coffeemaker and GCL accompanied me to Balneario, Coffeemaker bellyached about how the seats at this place were extremely uncomfortable and why couldn't they spend a little money to improve them. Well, sooner said than done. I checked it out today, and it is now possible to sit in the bar area without getting a backache owing to their improved (but still not luxurious by any means) seats.

Now getting to the important stuff, I had another session with a garota with a great attitude. She was not much of a looker, however, and since I went there early Sunday evening (around 5 p.m.) there was not much of a selection. But it was an enjoyable time, and I continue to recommend this place for those who are "flexible" in their environmental requirements.

Incidentally, there were a couple of warm-up blow jobs going on in the steam room during the time I was there, although my garota stuck with DFK'ing and dick diddling until we hit the cabine. Accordingly, while you are offered the choice of including the steam room (aka the sauna) or not in your entry fee, there are some potential benefits in addition to steam you get from paying the extra R$10.

One other thing. In the past I usually walked to this area of Rua Augusta from Centro. Today, I walked there from Avenida Paulista. That walk takes less than 15 minutes, and probably is a tad safer than from Centro.

Well the new seats will be a welcomed addition.
But the lawn chairs over next to the garotas showers is where I'll likely hang out. Its always nice to see exactly what your getting into before hand. That feature alone makes me want to get back to that place. Keep up the good work LAguy.

I was doing the club crawl along Rua Augusta on the way to the higher end and stopped in here. I would have to agree with some of the other reports. In my opinion, this place was better than the other clubs along Rua Augusta 600-700 block. Friendly women and staff. Prices definitely good. I saw a couple of definitely doable girls here (one tight little morena girl that looked interesting). I was quoted $50R for a session.

I passed by this place on my morning SP tour and I think this place has been raided and shut down. The front entrance has concrete wall about waist high.....

Sf4: When is the last time you were in Balneiro and it was open? Last time I was there it was essentially boarded up. The last post (from Dec. 22) on the subject at gpguia.net stated:

"Continua fechada. O engraçado é que é só essa casa e o Big Ben que estão com a paredinha de tijolos. O resto tá tudo aberto e funcionando normalmente...."

Then again, another recent post on gpguia suggests it is open (to the best of my meager understanding of Portuguese), so I don't know. Is your information recent?

Good to see Balmeario is open again (I assume Zoner's report is based on a recent visit). 70 reais is a bit high for the place, but it may reflect some price creep on Rua Augusta at least in what the girls initially ask for.

I recently visited and indeed it is open. I thought since it was boarded up previously perhaps it would re-open somewhat modernized. Nope, virtually the same as before.

The pickings inside were rather slim to the point about an hour into it I got dressed and started to leave without having sessioned. I then saw an average looking girl with a spinner body and approached her. She wanted 80 reais per half hour session plus the 20 or 25 for the room. After I told her I always pay 50 plus the room, she took it. The session was decent but unremarkable.

It used to be that 50 reais was the standard garota charge for 1/2 hour or 40 minutes at virtually all the Rua Augusta places; anal typically was 30 reais more, if available.

At many of the places the girls are now insisting on 70 or 80 with an anal surcharge (if they will do anal) of around 30 or 40. This is a bit much IMHO. From what I have been reading on gpguia.net, it would appear Balneario may be one of the last places you can still negotiate the price down to 50 reais, or, if you are lucky, be asked for 50 reais initially.

A caveat is in order. In the past there were apparent attempts by the garotas to coordinate among themselves to ask for higher prices, only to have the new pricing structure collapse and go back to the old. Whether this will happen again at those establishments where the girls are asking for substantially more than 50 reais remains to be seen.

Laguy, did you happen to take a peak inside Novo Maison, a block down from Balneario?

Maybe 2 to 3 months ago I checked out Novo Maison and/or Maison. The reason I use the and/or is there is now only one and I don't know which name it uses. I believe, but don't remember precisely, they use the rooms from both for sessions but now only have one of the two bars open.

In any event, I went in, looked around, and didn't stay long; I was with a friend though and wanted to hit a few places so I can't really say whether leaving was the result of the quality of the girls, or just because we only wanted to cover some more ground. But I don't remember seeing anything particularly impressive.

I tried this place out early last Thursday night. There were only about 5-10 girls but it was maybe 7:00 pm. Nothing caught my fancy. Entry was $R10 and I think it did count toward consumption. I cannot remember how much the beers were.
