The following TripReport snippet is taken from 2004/05 Laguy's Sao Paulo Ins And Outs

Teatro Orion, Rua Aurora, 753, www.teatroorion.com.br

I love this place, but it is the type of place that likely will not appeal to those who only like the high-end. It is a strip joint plus, with none of the bullshit that goes along with strip clubs in the U.S. It is in Centro within walking distance of the Sao Paulo Hilton and Praca da Republica. From the Hilton it is in a direction opposite to that of Rua Nestor Pestana and Rua Augusta. It is about a five-minute walk from the Republica Metro Station.

If you have visited the Market Street Theater in San Francisco you may see some similarities, but I like this place much better, both because it is cleaner, the garotas are probably better, and because one doesn't have to beat around the bush (so to speak) about what services are available; they pretty much all are.

The normal entrance fee is R$7, with "special" admission costing a whopping R$10 (discount coupons are available on their website, but hardly worth the trouble). The difference between the two types of admissions is the special allows you to sit in the front three rows; if you opt for this type of admission, be sure to hold onto your ticket as you may be asked to show it when sitting up front (actually you should keep your ticket in any event as admission is good for the entire day, with unlimited "in and out" privileges (I had to say that)).

Beginning around 2 p.m., seven days a week, there is a continuous (more or less) procession of strippers on stage. Hombres sitting in the special section often stand up and grope the strippers while they are onstage, often four or five men at a time are doing this to one stripper. The strippers also typically spend some time walking around the theater during their act. Perhaps every hour or so, there is a man-woman sex show, which lasts about ten minutes.

When the girls are not stripping, most hang out in the theater looking for customers, although not real aggressively. The normal fee is R$50 per half hour and R$80 per hour, with anal (when available, which it often is not) costing extra. Once you have agreed on terms (make sure you do this; don't assume the above prices until they are agreed on) you proceed to a hotel (the City Lodge Hotel) that is a five-minute walk away. The room fee is R$25, presumably for not much more than an hour, and you must present some id. to register. The rooms are reasonable and clean.

Many of the garotas will try to get you to buy them a drink before negotiating for sex. This costs R$25 and usually entitles you to some groping (lap dance style) in the back of the theater, where there are tables, etc. I usually try to avoid the drink purchase, but it can sometimes be useful if you are unsure about a garota and want to give her a test run before committing to a session.

I have had some excellent sessions with Teatro Orion garotas, some of whom love the camera (after all, they are all strippers in the most vain nation in the world). Admittedly, there are a few garotas who will turn your stomach, but many are quite good, I would say easily up to the "8" range, with the average maybe around 6.5. This varies though, depending on the day, time, and so forth. I can't tell you, however, when the best time to go would be.

It is important to note though the area around the Teatro Orion can be very dangerous. Even though I am relatively fearless, I am not stupid (I don't think) and have avoided the Teatro Orion at night for this reason. I wish it weren't so, as it is a fun place and I would like to see it at night as well as during daytime. It is not at all clear you can avoid this problem by using taxis at night; it is unclear whether there are any standing by close to the theater.

On another board, there is a post that claims the normal price for sex here is R$150 reais; the garotas parade around in lingerie; and there are rooms on-premises. I have found none of this to be the case, although wonder whether things might change as the evening rolls around. Indeed, given the area, it might be dicey to walk to the City Lodge Hotel at night, and therefore it is possible they have rooms on premises for use at night only. However, if they have rooms for use at night, you would think they would also use them during the day rather than sending customers to the hotel. However, because certain other details included in the aforementioned report are true (e.g., ladies drinks are R$25), I am a bit perplexed, except to suspect the R$150 price quote was grossly inflated for whatever reason. OTOH, there are some indications that some of the garotas will try to take advantage of foreigners by attempting to raise their prices, although I have never personally experienced this. Nor have I been ripped off in any way once I agreed to a price and got to business in the room.

The Teatro Orion website includes pictures of many of the strippers, as well as directions to the theater, and other things (including pictures of some of the sex show couples). Note, however, that none of the four garotas I have had sessions with have their pictures on the website. On the other hand, I have seen most of the garotas that are featured on the website at the theater, although not all at one time. Accordingly, while the website collection of garota pictures is incomplete, it is relatively representative of garotas who currently work there.

Location Information: The theater is located at Rua Aurora, 753, in the Centro area of Sao Paulo. Their telephone number is (11) 221-3948. To get there from Praca da Republica you walk away from Av. Ipiranga, cross the park and go a block or two until you hit Rua Aurora. Make a right onto Rua Aurora and within a couple of blocks you will run into the theater on the right side of the street.

I hate to do this, but I must lower my rating of this place. After having a series of excellent sessions with a few of the garotas here, I have run across a few who seem to belong to the greedy stripper club, first incorporated in the United States. Today I went there and attempted to set up sessions with two garotas (not at one time). Both attempted to extract R$100 from me for an hour, higher than the R$80 that usually was quoted previously (along with R$50 for half an hour). The first I got to agree to R$80, but as we were getting ready to leave she said I had to buy her a drink first. I explained I never had to do this in the past, and goodbye. I then spoke with another garota, who was attracting a fair amount of attention, and she said R$100 (R$60 per half hour). I said okay (tired of negotiating), and as we were getting ready to leave she tried to extract an additional R$10 from me because I didn't buy her a drink. Another goodbye.

I am not sure what is up, but whatever it is I don't like. It may be that the garotas are required to have sold a drink to someone before they leave (as in places like Kilt, Vargao, etc.) but given that it is clear the club has an arrangement with the hotel, I doubt it since the club is clearly getting a cut of the hotel charge. Also, that would mean all the garotas I have seen previously either are paying the "bar fine" out of their earnings from me, or already had sold a drink to some other hombre (doubtful, since the last session I had was with a garota who had literally just shown up for work).

Anyway, I still think this is a good place to check out, but am beginning to wonder whether or not it is a good place to bother having a session. Although I previously had a series of uniformly fine sessions, maybe my luck has run out at this place, and who knows what type of luck others will have there.

LAguy..

The two garotas GCL and I took from there in April did the same thing to us. Except they waited until after the session to inform us we stayed longer than the agreed apon time which was 30 minutes. As I recall GCL was done nutting in all of about 9 minutes and I was done in less than 20.
I was mildly perturbed and refused to pay the extra amount.

I just went there today I was quoted 100R for an hour and 25R for a drink that I had to buy her. She said that I could have her for 1.5 hours for 150R. We stayed over our time and she was worried about being late that she would get in trouble but never asked me for anything else. I walked her back to the theater but did not go in. I was going to meet a 6' mulatta at Club Aurora which is down the street 2 blocks.(If you want to gem hunt in these 2 class boates they can be found)
She did say that she had to give the bar 25R from the session that was the one hour. I did end up with the 1.5h session as I went for another nut with this one hot stuff. She talked to me about the place she said the girls don't get paid for dancing they make 10% on the drinks. When she left she signed out at the bar, at the door to the theater there she wrote down the time she left the bar and at the hotel. Extra condoms 1R. When I got back to my hotel room I read the board on this subject she is coming over tonight so I'm going to try to extract what information I can from her. She speaks good english is very frank and seems to know alot about the P4P scene in Sao Paulo. She said she used to work at Kilt and she is on two of the freelancer sites. And for all those guys that are looking for a wife on latin-euro she is there too. And I thought all those advertisment were real. Go figure.

Prices quoted seem to be all over the board. I continue to think the price is up to the garota. Also may depend upon the time of day. May be cheaper in the early afternoon when it isnt busy.

I agree it is all in how you negotiate. I was there in the early afternoon. From what I am gathering from being down R. Aurora and the few blocks around the last four days is that with all the strip clubs and boates there is at least 500 girls and the customers are not that plentiful I have seen some total hotties sit there all night and not even get a real. I have started around 3pm in the afternoon and just walk around and go into one either for some feels and some laughs or if there is a hottie I'll go for it. Sat night I didn't leave until 4 am and felt remarkably safe. All the bars staff will look after you. Taxis are usually right at the door or just stay inside until one arrives. I didn't negotiate with the one in the theater because there was something about her and the follow-up encounters are becoming quite a bit cheaper with her. She was just as hot as most at Bomboa and there were better looking than her in the Theater.

Has anyone visited this place recently?

I was last in this place, 3 years ago. It's a theatre with stadium seating and some minor strip shows on stage. I was there just out of curiousity and was not impressed. There was a small entrance fee (don't remember exactly, but probably only 15R or 30R) Maybe one dancer looked interesting but she did not make herself available to chat from where I was sitting. Oddly enough, one mulatta girl approached me & she was from Colombia! She was earning some money to send back home to her family. Unfortunately she was not my type. I never saw the on-site rooms so can not comment. It is close to the Republica Metro station. I won't not go there late at night, the surrounding area looked fairly shady.

Thanks for the update. I have not been there since 2004 but I really kinda liked the place.

I had a few beers here on Saturday afternoon. Maybe about 15 girls milling about. Nothing really working for me. Entry is $R20 and does not include any consumption. Beers are $R7. Place is certainly not for the non-adventurous. Staff is very nice.

I checked out the Teatro on Friday night. Still bizarre. Entry was $25R (maybe $30), higher than usual because they had a live sex act.

Call me crazy but is it just me, or do this Mitchc character's reports all seem fuzzy, as if the reporter is not entirely in charge of his faculties?

Lot's of 'maybe's' and 'I can't remember the entry or beer prices. I can't even remember what her price was.'

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear Mitchc had an 'out of body experience' in Sao Paulo?!!!
