MOONLIGHT. My secret club is a secret no more. This place is located in the district of Surco. The taxi ride is about 15 minutes from Miraflores and follows Ave. A. Benavides east. Costed 6 soles from San Isidro. I guess more guys have not written about this place, because the location is in a quiet area. In fact, the discotheque opened two years ago across the street from Moonlight was closed. Other mongers who mentioned this club did not mention what I saw as its special qualities, other than the usual series of solo strip dancers. A separate dance floor for the customers to dance with his girls. Theatrical acts. Atmosphere of friendliness.

There were about 25 girls and 20 customers at 1 am. Definitely a place for the upper middle-class local guys. I was the only non-local guy in the place. Girls kept moving around the place, making themselves available to any customer. Beauty-wise, they were better than two years ago and better dressed than other clubs, a couple of years older, and competitively attractive. The atmosphere was not fun-loving like two years ago, but still friendly. One major change inside was the bartender area was moved from behind the horseshoe-shaped bar to a small service area near the lady's room.

I stayed long enough to see one theatrical act, which proved to be a dramatic contrast to the Turkey-in-the-Straw rock dance number of two years ago. It was a quasi-dance number by two guys in black clothes and blank, white face masks and a girl in a sado-leather outfit that left her breasts exposed. It was a rather strange modernistic act. No emotion, no accentuation. Sort of Japanese Noh-like in texture. The act ended with the one guy holding the girl's shoulders and the other guy her feet with her stretched out face-up, horizontally between them as they walked in a circle underneath a double-legged ladder with the girl as the center of the circle. A subtle air of sexual tension drawn tight. Intellectually stimulating. There was a creative mind at work in Moonlight.

This club, Moonlight, is definitely the best club (although improvements can always be made) in Lima for entertainment and perhaps of all the clubs I have visited in Latin America and Asia. And its girls were good as other clubs and were better in some respects, at least for the older guys. I hope my mention of it will not ruin it by an overrun of gringo monkeys.

Moonlight at Calle Preciados 153 in Santiago de Suco. This strip club is a short cab ride from Miraflores. I paid an entrance fee of 80 soles which included several beers. Chica exit fee was 150 soles. It can be in drinks. I arrived early on a Thursday night, around 11 PM and for 1.5 hours there were only 3 guys. At 1AM there were probably 30 girls and only about 8–10 guys. Most of the guys were just watching the strip shows. There were 5 or 6 girls from Colombia. All had beautiful faces, but very thin bodies. I like girls that are built a little better. I pulled out a Peruvian chica for 2 hours in the hotel for $80. She asked for the usual $100. DFK was no problem for this chica, it started in the taxi. We had a good session that lasted about an hour. I called this girl a day or so later and we went sightseeing one afternoon followed by dinner and sexo. Like a lot of guys, if I like a girl I make afternoon/evening date outside the club. This allows me to avoid all the drink and exit fees at the clubs. My experience has been that most girls will usually accept the same amount of money as 2 hours late at night, but the outside the club the dates usually last 4 or 5 hours. I’m sure they would rather get paid something in the afternoon/evening rather than sit around killing time watching TV or talking to their friends on the phone while waiting to go to work late at night.

Moonlight was one of the clubs I gave a higher recommendation to in my Peru Guide. One unique thing I noticed here was the presence of some attractive Colombian ladies. I did not meet any Colombians at any of the other clubs I visited.

Moonlight - Calle Preciados 153, just east of Ovalo Los Cabitos off Benavides: Moonlight is the better of two clubs located in a small shopping plaza. I was charged different entrance fees on two different nights. The first night they charged me 50 soles ($15USD), the second night 80 soles ($25 USD). Both nights at Moonlight presented a fairly nice lineup. One thing that seemed unique to Moonlight was a group of Colombian ladies that were working, all fairly attractive. Ladies here also tended to be, or at least appeared to be younger (18-19). Total costs should run $50-$70 USD plus $100 USD or whatever you can negotiate with the lady. Vodou is located nearby.
