Treeshark's tortugas night out
Background- while on a previous vacation, treeshark saw a little nina with her pet tortuga. of course treeshark wanted one. while unable to find any for over a year, treeshark did find out about the tortugas.
called the Red-footed Tortoise, or Geochelone carbonaria. the first link contains info while the second has a picture of one.

On this vacation, treeshark found a place to purchase them. the second day there , treeshark bought his first one who we will call Adam. since Adam seemed lonely, treeshark bought another who we will call Baker. Now Adam and Baker lived with treeshark the entire time in Colombia. Adam and Baker ate whatever treeshark ate and thrived.

Treeshark stayed at Hotel Bahia for several weeks. Had a nice restaurant and pool. of course Adam and Baker always went with treeshark to the restaurant and pool. they just loved running around the pool area.

Now one day a nice American gringo came by to visit treeshark while he was at the pool with Adam, Baker, Betty and Carol. (at this time treeshark had his three new wives who we will call Annie, Betty, and Carol.) treeshark spent a hour talking to the nice american gringo but forgot to pay attention to Adam and Baker. The pool area there had a concrete block wall with little tunnels in it for drainage where Adam and Baker liked to hide. When the gringo left, treeshark went to the tunnels where Adam and Baker were, but they were GONE. Annie had come by this time so treeshark and his wives tried to find Adam and Baker but no luck. Of course treeshark and the wives were heart broken that Adam and Baker had split but treeshark decided that Adam and Baker has adopted treeshark's motto of "Live Free or Die" and were now living free.

The next day after lunch, treeshark returns to the piscina (pool) and sees Adam on the far side of the pool , staggering about singing and dancing. When treeshark walks up to Adam, Adam waves his little foot at treeshark and falls flat on his back where he continues to sing and dance with a GREAT BIG GRIN on his face. Treeshark can smell the rum on his breath. Adam is borracho (drunk), muy borracho. treeshark carries Adam back and feeds him a little cerveza. Where have you been asks treeshark. Adam explains that while treeshark had been talking to the gringo, Adam and Baker had sneaked back to the room and stolen some money and trucked out for a night of fun. Adam had gone to La Dolce Vita for the night. LDV is a bar where chicas that have problems keeping their knees closed in the presence of american dollars tend to hang out. Adam had spent the night drinking and dancing at LDV and had gone home with two chicas. seems like Adam had decided to act like papa treeshark

where was Baker? Adam did not know, Baker had headed out in another direction. Now treeshark had three wives and one tortuga so treeshark went back and bought two more tortugas, Charlie and Dave. so when the wives came by later, they are thrilled that Adam has returned. But poor Betty is upset since Baker is her favorite. Of course Adam is teaching Charlie and Dave all the latest dances and songs from the disco. and telling them about his night at LDV. The wives and tortugas have a great time partying that night. sigh.

Now two days later when treeshark goes down for lunch, the waitor tells treeshark that he has found Baker swimming in the piscina. of course Baker is borracho. Baker tells treeshark that he had gone to a casa, Manilla House and partied there with the chicas for three days and nights. and by the way Baker had a bit of a tab there and could treeshark go by and pay it off please. oh double sigh. Treeshark returns Baker to the shower in the hotel room where the others are. When treeshark leaves to go meet the wives, Baker is telling Adam, charlie and Dave all about his time at the casa. And all of them are now practicing their dancing. But despite numerous escape attempts, none of the tortugas manage to get another night out. Betty is thrilled that Baker is back. As are my other wives. The wives now drink with the tortugas and dance with them.. Also hand feed them and are always playing with them,. The tortugas are receiving more attention from the wives then treeshark. triple sigh.

Treeshark complains to his wives that all the tortugas want to do is eat, sleep, drink rum and cerveza , and chase after chicas. The wives tell treeshark that the tortugas act just like papa treeshark and perhaps treeshark is just a big tortuga.

Poor old treeshark just keeps quiet. trying to argue with 3 wives and 4 tortugas is just not worth the effort.
