There are 2 rooms in a beautifull apartment, a few minutes walk from the main nightlife area in the El Poblado neighbourhood of Medellin. The rooms have satellite TV, cleaned 3 times a week and free laudary service also 3 times a week.
Roberto speaks perfect English, after living and working in the US for many years. He sets his room rents on the Hotel Plaza Rosa rate, a minute walk away. But does not charge extra for female visitors, which saves you about 30,000 pesos a night.
In my opinion his rooms are better quality and quiter than the Hotels. Also a minutes walk away from the apartment is a large mall, with one of the main healthclubs in Medellin.
Roberto is normally happy to go out with his guests, he his known amongst his friends as El Perro, which sums him up perfectly. One thing to note that Roberto always pays his own way, if he is out with you.

I spent three nights in Medellin, stayed with Roberto at the apartment and can confirm all of this. Roberto really knows the scene and is an awesome guy to hang out with. He can guide you in the right direction, be it looking for a mall to go girl-watching (btw, Paisas are the most beautiful I've ever seen), looking for a place to hobby or pretty much anything else.
Most importantly, Roberto is NOT a hustler and is not looking to make a buck off gringos in order to survive down there. He's just a nice guy with a place to stay. I will collect and post my thoughts and experiences on my recent Colombia trip (Bogota, Cali and Medellin), but wanted to immediately chime in on this.

Hunter, I don't knwo about your friend Robert. He is working with someone else now who is not too great at customer service. I try to e-mail him all the time and he NEVER replies about rates and availability for the apartment.
I will have to give him a thumbs down in service, and am thinking he may not be the best choice to put your money on for a first time MDE traveller.
Thoughts?

Yes I know Robert is now working with another gringo, sounds like you have had no luck with them replying to e-mails, another member mentioned that as well, although I know 2 members are in Roberts apts at the moment, Inspector and another.
The Hotel Plaza Rosa is in the process of building a website, so when that is finished I will post the info here as well, as another option for the members.

This is another option for those going to Medellin. I stayed in one of his apartments for over a week. All of the rooms or apartments that they rent are first class. Robert, who runs this service has lived in Medellin for 3 years and is from the States.
He has many good contacts for whatever your looking for, and is a very easy going guy. They just moved to an awesome Penthouse, which has rooms available. I posted the contact information in the links section.

Everytime I trid to make arrangements w/ thsi guy, som other guy answered. He said Roberto is his assistant. Anyway, aside from wanting money up-front sent to his Paypal account, he did not make any efforts to satisfy my requests for pictures etc..thus ended up not even contacting me again via e-mail for my upcoming trip - At this point he gets a thumbs down for service form me.

The guy he works with is Richard. I had problems communicating in the begining, but after I sent my deposit via paypal everything went smooth.
Including someone waiting for me at the airport.

Batman here is their website, Inspector has already posted the url in the links section.

Robert is not that internet savy, but Richard is regularly on the net.
There are plenty of good hotels in Medellin, so if they are fully booked or you have problems comunicating with Richard. I would just turn up and go to one of several hotels, they are rarely full apart when there are conventions or shows on, like Colombian Moda etc.
Enjoy San Andres, its a nice holiday location, but for chica action its limited I have been told.

Ok - got the e-mail and looked at the website. I sent a request for dates; let's see if I can finally book this place for some fun.
Thx Hunter, as always you provide valuable feedback. I will be going to SAI w/ a Cali non-pro chica/sex machine - then I will be heading straight for Medellin!

Junior Suite $50
Suite $60
PH Suite $70
PH Master $90
All rooms include a full array of services and amenities, including breakfast, maid service, laundry, free high-speed internet and calls to USA or Canada, private pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, bar, etc. City tours, girl introductions, cell phone rentals, etc. are also available. Ask about discounts for long-term stays.
I recomend the Playboy Penthouse for newbies who are unsure of Medellin/Colombia, two Americans live at one of the apts and there are nearly always other foreigners there.

This place is now called Aussie Greg's Medellin Mansion.
If you need your hand held, this might be an option. Personally I think it's way over-priced and they don't have A/C - for me a dealbreaker.

I tried to contact Robert and Gregg with no success whatsoever. The email to reserve is not answered, the phone for Robert is not active. It is quite fustrating. I am trying to get a confirmation for a reservation 12 to 28 under name in august and nothing!
Any help!!

What e-mail address did you use? Try this one. info@medellinmansion.com
I don't know what the exact dates are but there is a flower festival in Medellin sometime in August, so hotel rooms may be at a premium.

Just got back and stayed there during the Flower Festival, and it was awesome. I started a thread called The Mansion, which is what there new placed is called. Did not have AC but the fan gave me all I needed, and it was not a problem. I paid $55 a night, which included free breaksfast, free internet, and free stateside phone calls.
Robert and Greg were awesome, and treated me like a brother. Nathalie the office manager was sweet, and helpful, and a hot babe with brains. It was a joy getting to know her. Amada not only cleaned my room and made me breakfast but ironed my shirts and was a great smile every morning. I could not have been better treated.
