Planning to visit Brazil for my annual December 3 week holiday break. This would be my third trip. To avoid the rip off hotel charges in Copa , I was planning to schedule a visit to Sampa between Christmas and New Year. Can anybody advise if there is any activity during that period?
Also can any one recommend any other place if Sampa is a ‘non event’ during the break?
Thanks

As SP is the most populous city in Brasil, there will alway's be some action to be had.
On New Year's Eve and N.Y. Day, it may be a little scare around Rua Agusta. Though my favorite sauna there, Balneario should be open? With what talent, I'm not sure? Refer to LAguy's guide:-) for directions.
Many Paulista's, pro's and non-pro's do go to Rio for Reveillon. And so do I:-) You should check out the fireworks in Copacabana, it's fabulous! I've been there 7 out of the last 8 year's, and plan to be there for '05 as well.
The richer Paulistas go elsewhere, like Porto Seguro.
In SP they do have a fireworks display above Ave. Paulista N.Y. Eve. sf4dfish
