Probably the most impressive restaurant i have been to in Rio. Seafood top notch. Many of the specials you can have are shown at the front door on a big ice table. Again, i am a fan of atmosphere. I would say it lacks in that category. If budget is not a problem, eat here before you go to Marius.

FYI......This place had been shut down in September '05. I heard that the owner was indicted on drug charges. The deivery boys were using the company truck to deliver more than the seafood and produce.
It is a shame, I was lucky enough to eat there about two weeks before it was closed. I had an amazing Bahia style lobster and shrimp dish. It was one of the most expensive things on the menu, but it was worth it.

this place sucked....over priced....the owner had an ego the size of my dick....went three times over the years and always vowed never to return.....many restuarants of higher quality and priced competitively.

Tweren't the delivery boys. The cops found a 500,000 US in the owner's CAR. Don't know if Satyricon has opened again, but the same guy also owns the Capricciosa DOC pizza places. The one in Copa on Constante Ramos near Mondego restaurant never closed. Has gotten the El Globo best pizza award two years running.
Diversity -- I always found the guy extremely humble and accomodating. Now I understand why (hehe).

SF-Kinda surprised some of that $500K didn't find it way into the investigating policemens pension fund...unless of course, the owner pissed off the wrong people with his "delivery" service?

Went there for dinner the end of October. Still open. Cops finding that much cash are not going to shut it down. They WANT it open.

This is such a great restaurant. The fish carpaccio is beyond great. For all of the international folk who think Brasil is just about women this restaurant matches the great seafood places in London, LA and NY (IMHO) and costs half the price but still very very expensive. Try the Lemon Risotto as a side dish (costs only R $14.. Its outstanding).
