For some reason i like Leblon better than Copa or Ipanema. That being said i have tried a few hotels (Sheraton - way too expensive, Monsieur Leblond - crap and a few others). I did stumble onto Hotel Palladium and give it a big thumbs up. Number One it is monger friendly - no guest fees and the staff is more helpful than any i have gone to. Number two - its not a budget killer. You can get a room from $65 a night up to $100 (make sure you ask for one large bed otherwise you get two small ones which get uncomfy if you have a sleepover). Number three - it has a business center with internet service (not free however, but convenient). Hotel has a very modern feel to it. Has a pool that does not get much sunlight - and they do has a small gym with the basics. The balconies are a big plus.
