I will be in Rio for a particular function for a few days. I will be in Rio for a total of 5-6 days, of which my girlfriend will be with me 3-4 days before she heads back home.
I would like to stay in neighborhood that is

1) Suitable for my girlfriend (low crime and low percentage of garotas de programa)

2) Suitable for mongering after she leaves

3) Has easy access to the financial center of Rio since I need to have some meetings while I am there.

I've done my research here and am leaning towards Ipanema or Leblon (Copa is too full of putas and Barra is too far from downtown Rio), but am concerned that Ipanema and Leblon may be too quiet at night, thereby resulting in more crime. Personally, I don't care much about crime but I'll be with my girlfriend.

It seems like there isn't much of a difference, practically speaking, between Leblon and Ipanema (although I'm leaning towards Ipanema since I hear there are garotas de programa on the beach but it isn't overwhelming as it is in Copa).

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
