As we approach the upcumming New Years/Carnival festivals, I thought it a good thing to get a lively discussion going about something that concerns all my mongering brothers.

In 1993 and 1994 I found Rio to be wildly more exciting during Carnival than this year, 2004. In 93 & 94, Carnival Samba Balls at Scala and Monte Libano were fantastic! And HELP was just CRAZY! All places featured half naked Brazillian beauties as it got hotter and hotter into the night. Even the floats in the parades had dozens of gals proudly dancing in both near and total toplessness.

For Carnival 2004, it seemed like everywhere I went, tourists made up 90 percent of the people in the nightclubs and 75 percent in HELP. Even in the Sambadromo parades, hardly any floats had more than one or two girls topless and even then they were often painted up.

And yes of course this year both the Cariocas (that didn't go to party elsewhere) and the visiting Brazilians were quoting ridiculous prices for P4P. Ok I know it's Carnival but there still is a big problem I find.

10 years ago you could go to HELP during Carnival and there would be HUNDREDS of HOT chicks and the maximum prices they were asking for was $50 for a 10! And a 7 or an 8 was $30!

I found this year that the quality of the girls has dropped. Girls that wouldn't even try to work at HELP in the past are getting in and the overall quality is suffering. You'll see 4's right along side 9's and 10's. And 5's asking for $100 while the 9's and 10's are starting out negotiations at $200 sometimes!

Because of inexperienced mongers who think it's ok to pay $100-$200 for a girl, we all pay. Some even pay the $150 or even $200 multiple times to the same girl! Yes, I've seen it! And it only hurts the very hobby we all love.

Heck! For $150-$200 you can get a decent girl back home! What's the point of flying halfway around the world to overpay! Stay home, save your airfare and hotel money and have a party with some local escorts.

But as for Carnival in Rio for 2004, after a couple of Snoop Dogg video's, every moron and his cardboard-killa crew wormed their way in and started messing things up quickly. They brought their game like they were at a real club in NYC or something, ie. sunglasses in the club, all dapered down, showing off $$$ in HELP and outside to the girls like complete jerks when fat boy Haji from India can have the same girl if he sees her first.

It made it tough to deflate some of these girls heads during Carnival.

I do not plan on being at Carnival in Rio for 2005 but instead will be there the Friday immediately after Ash Wednesday. You still get a chance to be with the visiting beauties and he regulars come back all happy from there own little Carnival adventures. Negotiating is alot easier also.

Here are some guidelines for prices of girls in Rio. In all instances, NEGOTIATE TO YOUR TERMS!

5-6's or below: It's your call, totally free would be my advise.
7's-8's: $30-45, but not more than $50 EVER!
9's-10's: $45-60 but not more than $70 EVER!

This is good advice. Unfortunately, you can pay these prices only if you are very cool, very slick, very good looking, or maybe very patient.

Otherwise, no 9.5 will settle for your US$ 50 if she can be sure to find a sucker who will pay her US$ 200. Instead you will have to find places where these suckers have not spoiled prices yet. Like Karlamodels.

It is also interesting that many Europeans would not pay these prices. You can do about 3 girls in a German FKK for US$ 200. So why would these guys pay this here? OK, service quality here is a bit better, but most guys would not want to pay more then they pay at home.


Cubanut, make sure we settle your reservation in my apartment before I fill up completely. Lots of people interested in coming right after carnival.

Not so many inquiries for carnival. I probably will have trouble filling the apartment up during high price season, due to my own advice. Damn, I never was a good politician, I am too straight forward and say things as I see them, instead of what would be best for me and other people doing business here.

You have a pretty good price scale. Like BS said, you have to be smooth and it depends what part of the day. Early afternoon at the beach or MP, may work. Midnight at HELP, forget about it!
I think 90% of the girls are happy with $R150. But it's like going to the car dealership, they just try to sell over the top.
I like to start with $R100 and slowly bump it up to $R150 and say this is the most I ever paid. See if they bite. But a basic rule, if she likes you and finds you good looking, your getting her on the minimum. If she don't look your way, and your persistent, then $R300 and not a Real less. (based on 7-9's)

I do not know about prices during Carnival but I will find out when I return to Rio 4 to 15 February. Figure everyone (or at least me) has to do Carnival in Rio at least once in their lives!

8 - 10's at 'Help' will run in the R$250- R$300 range. Some will now start the bidding process at R$400 - $450, but that ain't going to happen, at least not with me. If you are able to get them below R$250, well - then you are damm good.
