About 10-15 minute walk to the beach, but all the amenities and service you’d expect from a Hilton. Expensive, especially for CTG, expect to pay over $100/night., but you can get Hilton reward points and frequent flyer miles. Girl friendly.

While an ok Hilton, this hotel seems really dead. It has the worst beach in Cartagena - the sand is black in color from pollution(?) or something. There are no touts because there is usually only one or two persons walking about or getting a tan. The hotel itself seems deserted; I doubt if there occupancy rate is more than 20% (excluding Christmas, Semana Santa and July high season).

If you prefer a more lively area, I suggest staying in Centro (Charleston or Sofitel hotels) as there a plenty of people about (both locals and tourists) and a lot of upscale restaurants and nightclubs. Of course, the Hilton has a great pool area and lighted tennis courts. Also, if you prefer privacy/discretion, then the Hilton makes more sense, but I find it really depressing at that end of Boca Grande.

The CTG Hilton is the most popular convention Hotel in CTG. At times, it can be fully booked, depending on the convention.

Especially in November for the Miss Colombia beauty pageant, among others.

And the hotel is by no means cheap, I stayed there for two nites last month, and it cost me around $140 bucks a nite. I forked it over, because I'm a Diamond vip member.

Hey Sf4dfish,

To stay there during the Beauty Pageant sounds incredible:0 I have stayed there twice - only $100 per night. Obviously, the rates must vary depending upon the time of year. As a Diamond did they at least upgrade you to a nicer room (suite)?

I stayed at the Hilton several weeks ago. I cashed in Hilton Honors points for 6 nights (on sale for 12K points per night) and bought 1 night for an internet rate of $90 (double). I had no problems bringing in a guest during the day or night. If you don't reg. double they will charge 30K pesos for a guest. On several occasions I brought a guest in during the day and didn't even register the guest. There was enough activity in the lobby area that no one noticed I had a guest with me.
I liked the place. Nice rooms overlooking the sea, very safe area, excellent pool area, plenty of A/C, and 5-6 minute walk to LDV or the Las Velas beach.
