The $100 rate is based on the fact that the top escorts try to charge 200,000 bolivares per hour. The official exchange rate used to be around 1,920 bolivares per dollar.

If you exchange your dollars on the black market you should be able to get about 2,700 to the dollar right now which would mean a 200,000 bolivar escort would cost you about $74
