Regarding taxi fares, they are steep in Sao Paulo, everything is very spread out, and traffic is very heavy. It is very easy to run up a one way fare of R$50 to a destination. R$100 is not out of line if she lives 30-40 minutes away from you.

Next time, negotiate exactly what you want, and if they ask for taxi fares to and from, then set the price on those as well.

On the taxi fare, I recently ended up paying more than R$100 to get from Connection to the Hilton Morumbi; the traffic was disastrous that night and it might have been less otherwise, but taxis in Sao Paul can add up!.
