Avenida Argentina 1869 (not positive on the "69"): The Trocadero is easily the filthiest P4P establishment I have ever visited, not good when I can compare it to places like Vips 2 and 747 in San Jose, Costa Rica or Queens in Guatemala City. Prices are dirt cheap and they have a fairly large number of ladies available, but read on to see why I don't recommend this place.

First, don't come before 5pm, I heard from a couple cab drivers that they do or did open earlier, but I haven't found it open before 5pm.

Second, don't expect all cab drivers to know the place by name, I found a fair number of them that didn't. Write down, print out, or memorize the address: "Avenida Argentina Cuadra Diez y ocho". The ride should run you 15-20 soles ($5-$6 USD), verify the price beforehand. The driveway will be on the north side of the street. There are two openings, the entrance is on the right side. After passing the entrance, you'll drive about half a block down a partially unpaved road before the road turns to the left. Shortly ahead will be the two buildings that make up Trocadero/El Salvaje. The building on the left is yellow and green, the one on the right is burgundy. Both places charge separate entrance fees of about 13 soles ($4 USD). Sessions with the ladies should run you 20-30 soles ($6-$9 USD). The burgundy building on the right is the better of the two.

Each building consists of long hallways lined with doorways. Ladies of various quality occupy these rooms. They are mostly of lower quality relative to what you can find elsewhere in Lima, but you may find the occasional gem as I did. I sampled three ladies from the burgundy building and two ladies from the green and yellow one. All of the ladies I chose I found attractive in an approimate range of 7-8 pm a scale of 10, but they were far outnumbered by overweight, old, ugly, or unfortunate combinations of the three.

The burgundy/right building has three hallways for a total of approximately 150 rooms, although many are unoccupied. The farthest right hall is very wide and open and is more like walking down an alley than a hallway. The other two halls are narrow and darker, but still reasonably lit.

The green and yellow/left building has two hallways with a total of about 60 rooms, many unoccupied. The ambiance of this building is surreal and spooky. Unlike the burgundy building, light in these hallways are blocked off, leaving only red neon tubes to illuminate the patches of darkness. The floors in the halls are also often interrupted by long openings covered by metal grates with what appears to be a basement level with a dirt floor underneath (I'm believe this is just underneath the building, but I can't actually say I've been down there or actually seen it well enough to make sure) Condensation and patches of water can be found throughout the halls and in some of the rooms.

During a session in one of the filthier rooms I noticed several insects scattered around the bed sheet, including one by a relatively large yellowish-brown stain on the sheet. At the conclusion I also picked several off of my chest.

Besides the filth factor, there is also the issue of safety. I personally never felt threatened nor heard of any specific incidents, but I received enough warnings from the ladies and a couple locals to believe that of all the places I visited in Lima (and they were many) this was by far the most dangerous. That said, I again personally would not mind returning by myself, but I would definitely recommend against it for the less experienced traveler or one that speaks little Spanish. Also, the earlier the better, I'd say leave by 9pm at the latest if possible.

I didn't have any problems finding transporation back on a couple visits, but I have read reports of others that have. Worst case scenario is that you might have to find a ride to somewhere closer and change to another cab. There is a major shopping center not far down Avenida Argentina with plenty of cabs, or you can head to Las Cucardas in LIMA if you're ready for more action.

El Trocadero
Avenida Argentina #1869
Callao
Open Daily from about 5:00 to 10:00 PM
12° 02.874' S, 77° 07.483' W

If I had no clue where La Cucardas was yesterday, I REALLY am lost regarding El Trocadero. I do know this: it cost 17 Soles to get there from the Miraflores/Barranco border, and 10 Soles (and much negotiation) to get to Lima Centro when we left. As far as I can tell, you find a taxi driver who knows where the place is, and you trust him to take you there. You drive forever, until you hit the set of Blade Runner. Then you drive some more, until you make a right turn into what looks like a blown out building's driveway. Then you drive through some more of the Blade Runner set (we went on a Saturday evening, so maybe it is more populated during the work week), until you think that you're in the middle of nowhere.

Then, out of the blue, there's all this commotion and hubbub. There's a full parking lot, there's people selling stuff from carts, there's busses (busses!)… it's just a hotbed of activity. El Trocadero.

This place is in no way neat, clean, and upscale. I wouldn't call it exactly dirty, but clean doesn't apply, either. It's just there.

The entry charge is 13 Soles ($4). No yellow pieces of paper, no searches, no music, no dancing, nothing. You pay and you enter. El Trocadero is made up of three long hallways with about 20 doorways on each side of the hallway. The hallway on the far right is very wide, almost resembling a city street. Standing in front of the open doorways are girls. All ages, all sizes, all shapes, all colors, all levels of beauty. From beast to muy bonita, they're all there. If the door is closed, they're either not working that day or are in session. Sessions there run 20 Soles ($6!!!!) for 15 minutes. You walk up to the girl, say hello, wait for her to invite you in, and you have at it. No pretense, nothing.

During my last trip to Lima, I was quite curious how locals get to El trocadero because not everybody uses taxi service. found the following after some detective work;
- From Miraflores take any passenger bus going all Arequipa ave. and get off at the intersections of Wilson, Colmena and Tacna aves. by then you're downtown. then, turn left (Colmena avenue) and walk all the way to Plaza 2 de Mayo, which, is only 5-8" away. when you get there walk counterclockwise and turn at the corner with Jiron Miguel Zasuera. now, at the end of the street on the right side you'll see some small vans parked with a guy yelling: "Callao, Callao"!!!. if you want to make sure it goes to El Trocadero, ask and he'll say: "Chongo" (Brothel)!!!. just go sit inside and once the van is full it'll start its run. cost is S/.2.50=./
Nice way to save a few soles and is quite save, no problems, just be street smart and don't dress like you own the whole world and you'll do fine.///

Good detective work, Marcopolo. I've used a similar route.

From LarcoMar I've taken the bus (1 sol) going north on Av Larco. North of Av Pardo, Av Larco becomes Arequipa which becomes Tacna up in centro. Then hop on a combis (old rickety van, 1 sol) going to Callao, a 20-30 minute ride on Av Argentina to cuadra 18. For your return trip there's usually combis (1.5 soles) parked in front of Trocadero in the parking lot that go to Plaza 2 de Mayo. Then catch the Arequipa bus heading south to Miraflores.

When I went to Trocadero last month entry still was 13 soles, 20-minute session 20 soles including room.

Or, of course, you can just spring for the five bucks and get someone to drive you there.

After paying for a plane ticket and a hotel room, the 15 soles would hardly be a blip on my budget. And I don't have to ride busses for an hour.

But hey, that's just me.

RT here. In a recent trip report, there was some discussion of whether or not the Trocadero was still open. This is copied and pasted (with permission) from the English Forum in PeruTops, posted by the forista Juan Alimana. The post is dated June 26, 2015:

quote:

I did an inspection of this facility early yesterday afternoon and confirmed that the majority, 98.5% of the providers could be labeled as Peruvians. There were about 70 chicas and only one, maybe two, girls in the middle of the left corridor were either Colombians or Ecuadorian. These two were very busy. The rest ranged from chibolas (only 3) to mature whores.

I approached several of them to inquire about their service. The going rate is still 30 Soles for half and half. Most ask an additional 10 Soles for servicio completo (greek). The three chibolas (20-22 year olds) that I interviewed promised a good non-rushed service but emphatically said no to greek. The prettier, shapely ones were asking for 40 Soles. A couple of older providers offered bbbj and other stuff. Although several of the younger ones were doable, I decided not to purchase their services and just headed home to watch a soccer game.

The entrance fee is still 15 Soles.

Traffic was pretty bad. It took about one hour each way.

Hi guys;
Just came from a great trip to Lima and, in spite of the weather, i had a decent time. one the highlights was my more than once trips to "el trocadero" and i did enjoy my times there. lots of girls and quite a few sexy gals; i was gunning from the gecko there !!!!!
NO foreign ladies !!!! all Peruvians; if you want foreigner pussy, go to las cucardas (cost more !!!). and the times i was there it was kind of crowded (mainly was there during weekdays).
NO need of taxi or anything, just took all the time the local "colectivo" ride from side street off plaza ramon castilla to the trocadero, all for S/. 3.50= ha ha ha !!!! it doesn't get any cheaper than that , luv it !!!
I am resting and will get all my notes and pics line up like little ducks to get my report ready.
Peru is so damn cheap that it beats in many ways Asia. this is a big contender for me to retire and live here. BUT, you MUST have a decent knowledge of spanish, is a must !!! not bragging but my spanish is fine and got better over the years ha ha ha !!!! place is so cheap, hostals, food, pussy, clothes medicine .....
Only things i could find worrisome are tap water (careful !!!!) and be on your guard for local crime but this is all over this planet !!!
