I have been to Santiago three times and was less than excited about hobbying there. Chileans are very formal. The ladies are referred to as Chilenas. Except for a few very high priced strip clubs, I found the action very subdued compared to other South American countries.

You will literally feel like you are in a European city. Very clean and pristine, granite and marble homes, eat off the streets kind of place. People are very formal (wear a shirt and tie almost everywhere) and won't talk a lot about extra curricular activities or where to find action.

Having said that, you can find action in the paper, phone book and on the Internet. Just expect to pay higher than other SA venues. Most are non-pros looking to subsidize their incomes. Girls you find in strip joints are pros but expect to pay big time.

As I answered in the discussion section. I would go Hyatt if the company is picking up the tab. Radisson is well located as well for the hobby. The Sheraton is a little out of the way and Starwood is normally my preference, but because of the location I would stay elsewhere. Hope this helps.

Hyatt & Marriott are in really off - Crowne Plaza was very close to where most my meetings woul be.

Compared to EZE,GIG SCL is tame. The chicas from Chile are really shy and reluctant. More later as I am still recovering after flying whole night and half the day.

Till I still down and write up the whole trip to SCL; here is a quick summary:

SCL is expensive (food etc.)

Try the newspaper ads., you'll have to call a lot to get a few. Look under saunas, massages.

Look out for pubs near the Universita (there are two, near Crowne Plaza, and other Univ. of Santiago in the downtown area)

Seek help from bellboy or your whatever.

Two of the chicas that I had over from the newspaper were very reluctant initiators - passive providers.

The lobby scene at CP was very difficult to decode given a large convention was being held.

The bellboy I had heavily tipped help get me one who was non-pro, parttimer who would not stay the night over.

Was tempted to import one of a few I knew from Buenos Aires for the weekend

Hi I should be in arica Chile tommorrow for like 2 days then Calama and San Pedro atacama. I would like some more info on thse cities. I know Calama has a few coffee shops Girls with legs and I think a few bars with girls that serve beers in very sleazy clothes. I should also be passing thru Santiago and Valparaiso in 3 weeks. I would love info on these cities. I am now in Tacna Peru which is very sleazy lot of great clubs in Tacna. SEE My report in the Tacna Peru section. I was in SCL last week and did a little research for the bro's. As most of you know the South American strip clubs are expensive, but they are a sure bet for finding a partner. I stayed in the Providencia (formerly Aloha) hotel. Nice place and 50-60 USD on the internet. Anyway, here is the club list

Why Is Santiago DEAD?????

In Chile access to decent girls is quite easy in Santiago.The paper is loaded with them(El Diario )under the heading Suana .Stay away from the strip clubs .There is an interesting way to girls through the coffee shops .Called Salon de Te',girls in thongs serving coffee up front and desert in the back .The salon's are all down town around the Plaza Moneda and the city library,close to the plaza. Street girls in the same area in the PM. be careful!

How much would it be for 1 hour in an apartment in Santiago?

Geez, most everyone is down on the scene in Santiago but I for one had a fantastic 1 hr. GFE session for just 20,000 pesos (510p = 1us). Location was at an apartment at Las Bellotas 199 (near "Paris" shopping center), 5th fl. apt.55, tel. 2314449. You'll find lots of offerings if you look in the classified section of El Mercurio, section C (Comercio), under "saunas". Just get on the phone and make some calls. El Rastro (paper dedicated exclusively to classifieds) also has a huge selection.

Did you take the bus from Mendoza to Santiago? Awesome trip...

SCG one of the cleanest, safest, most modern metropolis in LA. Very pleasant to walk around, good roads, metro (3 lines), buses, taxis metered. Cops pack revolver only. Nice weather this time of yr. People cordial, somwhat formal, conservative. Euro look, civil, orderly. p4p prices high for LA as Chile is probably the most developed nation south of the US.

I read that extranjeros pay us$130 entry/admin fee upon arrival in SCG only by air. If you arrive by land or sea you dont pay. If your flight into Chile arrives in any other airport you dont pay.

Also, extranjeros are exempt from 19% hotel tax if you pay in usd. Usually hotel prices include tax. Just show your passport, save 19%.

Didnt think much of Valparaiso. Decent beaches at Vina del Mar. Wine country nice. WorldTraveler69 has a p4p list for the above 3 cities.

Sexpig, San Pedro & Atacama, most arid desert on the planet werent as nearly strikingly scenic as Salar de Uyuni & Siloli just across the border in Bolivia. Didnt see any p4p in either locales.
