I'm looking for any hobby information on Manaus. Here's what I have so far.

This information is all unsubstantiated and not my own. I have found it at other locations on the web.

Unlike Rio (I guess that would cover every other city in the world!) , there are no termas in the local newspaper.

One report I found says the bars/strip clubs are the place to go. Potential locations include:

1. Skorpions Drinks, Tel 232 8813, rua Mundurucus 52, Centro, Manaus
2. Melry girls (used to be called Scort Girls): Rua Monte Castelo 30, Japinho, 237 5637.
3. Boite Jet Set, strip club.
4. Kilds, strip club.
5. Morango’s, strip club

I also found a listing for “Erotic Massage”

1. Massagem Erótica 24 hr, 9991-3097

Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

I know this city inside and out as I have worked there many times.

1) Remulos - Located in Centro on Avenida Septiembre. All the cab drivers know where this place is. It has is connected to a "hotel" with the same name. Entrance is 3 Reals. Beers are 1 Real. This place is a Strip Club, but like others in SA you can take any girl there. There are small dirty rooms directly in the club, which you can jump in for free for 2 songs. Or you can wall upstairs using a back entrance to the club, directly into the "hotel" and pay $10 Reals for a room. There are about 20 - 30 girls there everynight and the rate will be about $70 - $100 Reals. Most do BBBJ. This is mostly a local place. It is the largest strip club, but also somewhat dirty. (Another note: There are many Strip Clubs that are on the same block as Remulos. Do not go in them. Usually they'll have 3-4 ugly girls and they want a cover charge.)

2) Xicara: Located close Distrito Industrial. (Pronounced SheCara). Most cab drivers will know it. This is a smaller strip club with about 10 - 15 girls. Opens at (I think) 12 in the afternoon, but there aren't many girls until 9 - 10 PM. Prices are same as Remulos, but the it has quickie rooms (again 2 songs) for about $10 Reals or normal rooms for about $30 Reals. This place is outdoors with half the club covered by a roof. The girls here are not of great quality IMHO.

3) Kiss - Located in Cohecerina (I don't know if this is spelled correctly) on Avenida Tucuruman. Most cab drivers will not know where this is. This is a more upscale club. Only has about 10 girls a night, but you can sit down in a nice long couch. Very clean. Drinks are a little more expensive. The girls look a little better here also and there is a show about every 30 minutes. There is a small pool table here. There is about a $20 Real exit fee for the girls, but there are also 2 bedrooms here. I think it iss about $20 Reals to rent a room. The girls will charge between $100 - $150 Reals. If you would like any special Requests, ask for Rosie (pronounced Hosie) who is its manager. She is very accomodating.

4)Pousada do Lobo - "Wolf's Den" is a new place that opened up in March. It has the same owner as Remulos, but it tries to be more upscale. You can sit on couches and watch the shows. The entrance fee is $10 Reals. Beers are I think $3 Reals. This place has many rooms available for about $10 - 20 Reals. This place is located close to Distrito Industrial. When you go from Novotel towards Centro, it is off that major street. Most cabbies probably won't know where this is, but have them call and find out.

These are the places that I would recommend in Manaus, Brazil.

There are others places, but they are not that good. Manaus is not a great place to go for hobbying, but if you are there, than these are the places to go to. Also, it is easy to pick non-pro action there.

Corozao Blue - "Blue Heart" is a night club filled with young available girls. But you must be the one to approach these girls.

Ponta Negra - The beach of Manaus. There are always working girls here everynight. They sit at the tables as a group of girls. Just send them over a drink first to make sure they are not tourists. If they are working they'll come and sit by you.

Tropical - The most upscale night club in Manaus. This club is located at the hotel Tropical. The most beautiful young girls of Manaus come here, but they are not whores. Girls from Manaus are interested in foreigners even though there are many there already.

I hope I'm not too later, but all the places you listed (except Jet Set) closed down a long long time ago.
Actually Jet Set has been a place that I've never been too. I've always passed it going home from Remulos and a couple taxi drivers said is was pretty good, but their standards are pretty low. It is about 3 blocks away from Remulos.
All the taxi drivers will know it because it has been open for such a long time.
But, everyone knows that the best strip club in Centro is Remulos. It has the most girls and all the people go there. The other places will have about 5 customers and 3-4 girls inside who have been kicked out of Remulos for various reasons.

Go to Kiss. Kiss is the new opening of Kilds.
Kilds used to be a great upscale place, but then the owner moved it andd the girls to Fortaleza. They were subsequently shut down in Fortaleza. So now they're back in Manaus, but the place is a little hard to find.
Even by knowing that it is on Avenida Tucuruman..
3 cab drivers got lost finding it.

But once your there, look for the manager Rosie.
This is pronouncedd Hosie. I am posting her pic, but she is a blond now.
She will take care of everything you need (bringing girls to you, arranging a room there,

Actually I've taken a look at a representative sample of Manaus girls, and they actually look really cute. Smaller, skinnier, but nice tight asses. They seem to have a problem with pot bellies as they get older though...maybe a result of Indian genes.

I'm am considering making a Manaus run this fall if anyone is interested. I know it'll be hot, humid, and insect-ridden. Pretty miserable...but all the more reason why the non-pros will be desperate to get out.

Went there last August. Went to Kiss and Ponta Negra. Was too early for PN action so my only experience was Kiss.

Nice upscale place as reported. Many couches and tables for drinks and to get to know the girls. Availability was sketchy the night I was there, two 9;s, and a big drop-off in talent after that. Bar fine of 20 r and 150 for LT. I picked a petite but gorgeous girl, very GFE. Hooked up with me the next day to avoid the bar fine. DFK, BBBJ, reverse cowgirl, anything and everything but anal, which i did not ask for. Excellent experience and better than the terma sex I had in Rio.

Manaus is clearly not a destination city for the Hobby, but, if your going to be there, there are good alternatives available.

So any truth to the rumors that Manaus girls throw themselves at foreign guys?

Hard to say. I didn't get alot of experience with the non-pro crowd.

My mongering experiences there were excellent. Great value, with girls that are more petite than many Rio garotas. Service was very accomodating and I did have one pro tell me she wanted to quit and become my mistress. Of course, this was probably her best shot at getting more money out of me.

My impression is that foreigners stand out a bit more in Manaus because of its location in the interior and its off the tourist trail a bit. However, it has a free trade zone and many multi-national firms have set-up factories there, most notably Japanese. I saw several japanese at Kiss the night I was there and my garota could sing japanese carioci (sp?).

As I've said before, I wouldn't travel there for the girls, Rio is a much better distination IMHO, but there is good fun to be had if you have other reasons to be there,

That sounds pretty good. I decided to go to Fortaleza, so I think I will sneak away for a few days and check out Manaus. I've also been carrying on a "pen pal" thing with an 18 year old from there, and by all appearances, the non-pro girls of Manaus appear quite eager and desperate. My buddy and I are looking forward to it.

Any recommendations on where to stay and the best spots for top talent?

I've been looking at some party sites that show pictures of girls from Manaus, and I'm still in a state of shock at how consistently hot they are.

Did you get a sense as to what the ratio to guys to girls was like over there? And how many foreigners are there in Manaus?

There's no issue with the girl/guy ratio there. In the late afternoon, girls are everywhere. Especially walking the main drags. Reminded me of what I've read about Cuba as it seemed you could stop and pick them up if you had the language skills. They certainly dressed the part of providers. And some looked hot!

Ponta Negra is another great spot to see pro and amatuer talent. Its a long walking path by the water, fronted by restaurants and dance halls. Lots of action there, although seems to start a little later in the day. Its a known freelancer area.

Manaus is not an active tourist destination relative to other major cities in Brazil. As I've mentioned in a previous post, there is a free trade zone there and several japanese companies have factories there. The main source of foriegners seems to be Amazon safari's. But still, I don;t remember seeing any other non-brazilians, except on japanese businessman in Kiss.

I enjoyed Manaus, but if you aren't there to go into the Amazon, its probably not worth the trip as a mongering destination as its near no-where and takes hours to get there.

I hooked-up with an outstanding, petite provider and my buddy got a 9+ nursing student, at 150 reales each plus a small bar fine from Kiss. But the next day I had a repeat session w/o the bar fine which was wonderful and my buddy ended up with his "worst session" of the trip with a provider recommended by my garota. So YMMV.

Thanks Ix. I've heard a lot about Manaus, and I really dig the *look* of the Manaus girls that I have seen, so I'm going to make it one of the cities on my hit list. Their bodies seem to be the best out of all the regions of Brazil, with perhaps the exception of Rio.

Actually buying a ticket to Manaus from practically any Brazilian city looks outrageous. $600-700 dollars easy. Best to go with the Varig airpass I think.

HOW TO TRAVEL:

From the US the cheapest way is via Bogota. AeroRepublica has four flights a week to LETICIA (Mon - Wed - Fri - Sun leaving 10:30 am Bogota), Roundtrip around 200 US.

Varig and RICO have daily flights from Manaus to Tabatinga, but quite expensive (roundtrip around 350 US).

WHERE TO STAY:

The best hotels are in LETICIA (ej. Anaconda 90.000 Pesos a night or Yurupary 50.000 Pesos). I suggest to stay in Yurupary. The messenger boy Nulian Costor lo Ruiz is very keen to learn languages and loves the nightlive. Ask him for chicas and he will show you around on his motorbike.


THE ACTION:

There are some casas at the border Brazil/Colombia, but ugly women and places. The best are private houses in Tabatinga (there are around three, one is just around the corner of the Varig office in Tabatinga). GFE is nearly guaranteed. I went with the Yurupari messenger boy and paid im a programa (30 Reais). This was a good investment, because when I showed up with my girl at the hotel, he managed to avoid the extra fee (25.000 Pesos for adicional).
My girl stayed with me two days & nights. GFE, with kissing etc. She even suggested to make love without condom, I agreed after we both made a blood test at the Public Health Station (casa de saude) free of charge. A small present to the administrator will give you the immediate result.

After I paid the multa in the bar in Tabatinga (40 Reais) she did not ask for anything. I gave her 100 Reais for the two days and she seems to be happy. Drop off to Airport of course, and probably warm pick up, if I come again.

Other option is to take a river taxi to BENJAMIN CONSTANT. At the harbour are some bars, ask the barkeeper for meninas, and he will introduce some to you.

A good RUMBA dancing place is TIO TOM in Leticia. A good discotheque SCANDALOS in Tabatinga.

HOW TO GET AROUND:

Take a Motocycle Taxi. All trips costs 1 to 2 Reais. There a also some Lady Motocycle Taxi Driver. Invite her to a beer and make friendship.

TOURS & TRIPS

Go to the ANACONDA Hotel in LETICIA and ask for JOEL guide. He arranges phantastic trips for a low price. And of course ... also has a lot of stories about gringos, coming to Leticia, falling in love and staying for months or ever.

Leticia is a haven for drug dealers and money laundering, hence the reason there is a lively pro scene there.

Next Wednesday I am again in Leticia and will take some photos to share with the fogs. Drug Dealing & Money Laundering might have been the main business in this region a couple of years ago, but now both governments the Brazilian and Colombian have intensified security measures. There are very strict controls at both airports, Leticia and Tabatinga. For the Brazilian Policia Federal is working there a beautiful young girl from Curitiba. You did not like Manaus? Lots of cute girls...

Manaus is an interesting city, being in the middle of nowhere. Try driving down the road towards the edge of town, and you'll notice that it just ends. Sort of a surreal feeling.

Anyhow, I noticed the basic pick-up spots have been covered for the pro action, so I'll just say I thought Kiss offered the best quality out of the bunch. You can negotiate at about 100R, but really, with some time spent in this city there's no need to pay; i stayed in the best western in the centro, would have preferred ponta negra but there's only one hotel there that charges u.s. prices, ridiculous for a run-down city like manaus.

I went there half-expecting the girls to rape me at the airport, but it's not like that in the Amazon; you actually have to make the first move, bater um bom papo (talk a good talk), etc...but after that, you'll be fucking whoever you want after 1, maximum 2 dates. obviously, i generalize...you have to have some semblance of pick-up skills and be in reasonable shape, but being american will go long and far here. most want to escape the jungle.

Plenty of streetwalkers in this city, but many are hideous, especially by the docks. I guess some of the decent ones hang out near the hotel in Ponta Negra, but don't expect anything close to the quantity of the terrace in front of Help in Rio;

Non-pro clubs like Studio 5, Tropical, Coracao Blue will always have nice and slutty girls; Manaus girls are fairly eager, and as with most of the Amazon, appear quite "caucasian hungry"; I think it is the result of the skewed ideal of beauty portrayed by O Globo and the Brazilian media in general.

in any case, manaus has better looking girls than belem. it's a result of migration. lots of southerners, mostly of european blood, came here in waves due to job opportunities with the free trade zone. belem however never received this influx. thus, belem = lots of indian blood, whereas manaus = an influx of european blood from the rest of brazil.

overall, sexy girls on the streets, malls, etc...and for nice perky bodies, manaus is great. BUT, i wouldn't go to this place if you speak pimsleur portuguese and are primarily interested in program girls. why? because the selection and quality is not that great, and the prices are high in manaus in terms of everything else.

the other thing about manaus. seems to attract all sorts of shady ex-pats from the u.s. and europe...guys running away from something or another. best to stay away from these guys, most are broke and trying to take advantage of tourists cuz they speak english.

A friend caught Malaria during a jungle tour. He is a careful guy and did all lab testing and the basic "standby" prophylaxis. Probably should have done the full blown Malaria prophylaxis instead

Guess inside Manaus the danger of catching Malaria is smaller. Still, be very careful. I was paranoid regarding use of repellants and avoiding mosquitoes at all cost.
