I spent 4 nights in Bogota. I reserved 2 nights at Hamilton Court through http://www.Hotels.com for a rate of $90 US plus taxes. I originally planned to try out another hotel while I was there, but Hamilton was too convenient and they were offering free internet access at the time. I would have preferred a less expensive hotel, but the facilities were really nice and the location was great.

Hamilton Court is on Car. 14 between Calle 81 and Calle 82. It's adjacent to the Hotel Saint Simon and located just around the corner from the Atlantis shopping center in the Chapinero district. From my understanding, the area was one of the safer parts of Bogota. At times there were armed officers that looked like military out on the streets. I felt safe walking around here any time of the day or night, but some people may feel uncomfortable at the sight of the large guns.

I had no problem bringing in guests, but I never tried to bring in more than one, either. The reception desk was to the right and the elevators to my room to the left so I usually bypassed the desk completely, but security was always present so they saw the ladies I brought in. There were usually two security personnel at the door.

The entrance was open during the day but locked and barred at night. Security was always nearby so I had no trouble getting in.

Plenty of restaurants and shopping facilities are located nearby as well as a number of different ATMs inside the mall. A currency exchange counter is located a couple of floors up. At least a couple of discos are located within walking distance.

Several nightclubs (Casanova, Copa Cabana, and Extasis) are located not too far away on Calle 86. They are walkable, but I usually preferred a taxi despite being overcharged a dollar or two.

I can't really think of anything I didn't like about this hotel. I give it my recommendation.
