Hotels in Bogota
By Young_n_restlez on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 05:36 pm: Edit |
Hi everyone,
I know this is truly a case of RTFF, but I would really appreciate a hotel recommendation in Bogota for one that is chica friendly, has a web site and is near the action in Zona Rosa. I will only be there for about two nights.
Many thanks in advance,
YnR

Vladimir,
Thanks for your Bogota hotel reports. You're photos of Hamilton Court looked really nice and sounds like it would be worth the extra few bucks if it is in a convenient location. Thanks again for sharing.

Hotels in Bogota that I've I know are Hotel La Bohem, however, i've heard they've changed management and aren't too friendly and easy going as before. However, check out Hotel Charlotte located on Carrera 15 with 85, I've stayed there, nice champagne greeting, about 3 block from La Zona Rosa. Most hotels in Colombia suck as they always care too much about what's going into their hotel besides your cash.

Can anyone point me to a good, nice motel (drive-in type) that is close to the airport? Thanks.
By Gator on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 - 08:45 pm: Edit |
I hate to tell you this but there are no motels I know of close to the airport. A drive-in-motel, is know as a short time "love motel"in Colombia. Best bet would be to check with a taxi driver-they know EVERYTHING.
You might go on line and check out the De La Opera Hotel in the La Candelaria district which would be about 12/14 km from the air port. There are a ton of older business men type hotels in this area. Why not have the amiga scout something up?

Dann Norte Hotel Avenida 15 114 09

I stayed at La Boheme my first trip to Bogota. It is about a block from Andino Mall. It is expensive but very nice. They have free internet service and they were the first hotel I had seen that had condoms included with the toiletries that you can purchase in the room.
I had stayed at one of the Dann Carlton Hotels in Bogota and they wouldn't let me bring two girls up to my room at once. I'm not sure which one it was but it was close to the Unicentro Mall.

i took tim3rexes' advice and called them up. i now have my reservation at 85!

Although the Dann Norte hotel didn't hassle me about taking girls up (had two one time), they did add surcharges for each girl I took up (I think it was 30K pesos). There are a lot of hotels with "DANN", seems like it's a neighborhood. Both Dann Carton and Dann Norte are nice hotels (Dann Norte cheaper) and in good locations in North Bogota.

I'm looking for potential trip buddies and an update on chica friendly lodging and mongering locations in Bogota. I plan to spend 4 days in Bogota in late March 2007.

Does anybody know anything about the embassy suites in Bogota? This is my first trip to Colombia. After reading the posts is seems many hotels are not chica friendly or surchage. Im assuming embassy suites would do this being a typical chain hotel.

I've holed up at the ES in Bog. a few times. Never had a problem bringing back chicas. In fact, the porters may be able to provide some company if you are lonely and need help:-) ?
If you book on-line, if the double occupancy price is the same as a single, I alway's book a double just to be safe about inviting chicas over w/o a surcharge. Though being a Hilton Diamond member, I do get extra privileges.
Have a great time!

Does anyone know this hotel? This morning RCI offered me a special $600 for seven nights, upgraded to a suite for my May trip next year. These mostly go to corporate clients and there where only three left so I booked it. Any thoughts?

Bogota Plaza Hotel is beeing offered on Skyauction.com for around $55 a night. This is not spam, just something I noticed.

Hey Johnny... I checked out this auction because I need a room for one night in Bogota Aug. 8th. But I noticed there is a $49 service charge on all winning bids.
Hey BTW when r u going back to Rio?A few of us are planning a September visit, probably my last trip to Brasil this year.
By Johnnyroc on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 - 09:03 pm: Edit |
Hey LL,
I might be going the end of Sept-early October. Do you have your dates booked yet?
By Johnnyroc on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 - 09:06 pm: Edit |
BTW....this is a top hotel. You can probably save 50% by getting it on Skyauction. I scored a great South Beach hotel on here for $83 a night last year.

looking for hotel recommendations in Bogota. Isawal, how was GHI?
By Latinalover on Sunday, July 15, 2012 - 07:31 am: Edit |
Anj.. I like to stay in the north, very safe but you will need to take taxi's to most places. I have stayed at the Esteler la fontana hotel. It is a 4 star apartment type hotel you can book on priceline for about 120 a night. It is across the street from the Unicentro comercial mall...tons of hot chicks in there every day.
By Concarne on Sunday, July 15, 2012 - 04:05 pm: Edit |
You can check out the Candelaria area, just google it.
There are a couple of very nice hotels, apartahotels as well as cheaper hostel options.
The area gets you closer to the Santa Fe area where the whorehouse and SG area is. Short cab rides and when you are in the mood a long but not impossible walk...do not do at night
By Latinalover on Sunday, July 15, 2012 - 04:26 pm: Edit |
Candelaria is an interesting historical area but very dangerous at night. be careful there.
By bluelight on Sunday, July 15, 2012 - 08:14 pm: Edit |
I stayed in GHI with Isawal, the 2 bedroom was really a loft with a bed on each floor and 2 baths. They allowed girls, $25 per visit. The location is great. Walking distance to everything except the main redlight area. No one would want to walk there anyway. Many many apartments within blocks. Some sort of school near bye also, many hottest walking around. The door guy was very worried about our safety. He got us full size US cars everywhere we wanted to go. To upscale neighborhood for street walkers.

Thanks all! Great info.

I stayed here back in March 2008. Cost about $30 USD per night, right in the heart of Candelaria at the foot of Monserrate. Couldn't beat the location.

I walked around regularly at night, latest around 3am I think. Always a few couples, normal looking people and security guard here and there.
Never felt unsafe..I supposse I may have been in the nicer area. Anyways, it is a great place to see some old architecture plus there are a few good restaurants there.
By Latinalover on Monday, July 16, 2012 - 01:12 pm: Edit |
Concarne.. Walking around at 3am.... you may have been just lucky. My novia won't even take a taxi from the street at night in that area.
It's a trade off, inexpensive hotel, close to the action in a dicey area or a nice apartment in an upscale area and take taxis. Pluses and minuses to both.
I like the the whole apartment, full time maid thing and no guest fee. IMHO
By Concarne on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - 08:11 pm: Edit |
Yeah....I may have been.
I am telling you Candelaria has got a couple of very nice boutique hotels as well as a couple of nice aparthotels. Plus the cheap hostel action of course.
If you want to be somewhat close but nicer check out the Viaggio apartments, they have some by the zona rosa as well as ones in a college area in between the ZR and Santa Fe.
About 70/day
