Well, I can hope, can't I? Going there in a bit, and hoping that someone here has some info.

Info on this place is real sparse, even doing extensive Internet searches. What I see is mostly along the lines of "I heard that someone once found a chica there somewhere", or "Geez I found lots of "10+" chicas and they didn't ask for money".

Anyone got any real info?

By Ezgab on Wednesday, December 20, 2000 - 08:25 am:  Edit

I can give you a little bit of information. I was in Venezuela about 4 years ago and did not write up very good notes. Consequently, I am going from memory.

I can talk about the three areas that I went to; Caracas, Island of Margarita, and Curacao (sic).

Caracas: I stayed at the Hilton hotel, only because I have a number of weeks of free hotel stays. You will actually land at the Caracas airport. To get to the city it is about a 30 -40 minute drive. Be careful of the taxi's. A number of them are very corrupt. I also was involved in a scam coming back to the airport. There was an army guy with a machine gun asking everyone a question in Spanish, this was before I could speak Spanish very well, I didn't have a clue what he was saying. He brought over a guy that could speak Spanish. For a grand total of $40 he would walk me through the process. Foreign travel, lack of Spanish, army guy with machine gun - I took him up on his offer. They tried this a number of times after that and I showed the army guy my passport and airline ticket with no problem.

Caracas is a very dangerous city after dark. I liken it much to the zona in tj at night. Always take a taxi at night. In the daytime there is some great shopping and exploring. The girls are some of the most beautiful in the world in my opinion. Is it any wonder that Venezuela holds the number 2 spot for the most number of winners in the Miss Universe contest.

This URL is a map of the train system. They have an excellent train system. http://metropla.net/am/caracas.htm
I always got on the train at the Belles Artes station. I found a number of hotels that had bars offering girls located at either the Sabana Grande train stop or the next one. Upon exit of the train go walk up to the street level. The hotels, about 6-7 in total, will be down one of the side streets. Don't expect anyone to speak any english in Venezuela. All of the girls that I met spoke zero english. There is also a taxi stand next to the hilton hotel. I asked a taxi one night to take to a view places that offered services but they were not nearly as good as the street that I stumbled on.

Island of Margarita:

What a place. I love non-tourist places. This is one of the hidden treasures. It is about a 45 minute plain ride from Caracas. The chica action I found was located in the strip clubs. They had about the same nastiness level as in TJ, although the girls had the looks of girls from Chicago Club. I met one girl, I don't remember prices, and she came to my hotel, again the Hilton, and spent the next 48 hours with me.

Curacao - They have an old army barrack located within two miles of the airport. You pay a few guilders to enter. There is a central area where they serve beverages and there is a dance floor. some of the girls hang out there. Others stay in there room which they will leave the door open for you to come in and talk with them. upon reaching a price, somehow 30-35 sticks in my mind, the action begins. I only tried this place during the day and was there a total of 3 days. I would recommend this island. It is located about an hour plane ride from Caracas.

Ezgab:

Thanks for the info.

Are any of the hotels near the Sabana Grande metro stop usable for someone to actually spend the night? I don't fancy staying in the Hilton, and then paying $$ to spend an hour in a fleabag with a chica.

Note that I am totally fluent in Spanish.

BTW, where are the strip clubs in IM? Porlamar?

By Ezgab on Friday, December 29, 2000 - 07:04 am:  Edit

There are some hotels located at that subway stop. From the outside it looked pretty good. About 3-4 stories. You can't miss it as I think they have a painted sign or billboard advertising for the hotel. I think it was kind of a triagular shape.

There are strip clubs located in Porlamar, I think maybe 2-3. There are also a couple on the outskirts of town. The one I went to a few times was located walking distance from the Hilton hotel on the third floor of a shopping mall. They also have a casino at the Hilton hotel, which attracted some of the more expensive working girls.

Hope that helps

Some info on Caracas:

I had only one night free in Caracas, with an early flight back to the US in the AM, so I stayed at the Hotel Embassy, near the Plaza Venezuela, in the Sabana Grande area of the city.

The hotel has clean, but extremely small rooms, all with a small TV that shows XXX videos.

At about 9 pm, the downstairs bars started filling up with working girls (I was the only customer in the bar at that time). The chicas were 7s, 8s, and 9s, more like the girls at the old Hong Kong bar in its prime.

One approached me, and I bought her a drink. After some time, she offered to go to the room for some $70, which seemed attractive. However, she proceeded to begin negotiations with the bartender over some additional fees for drinks to be sent to the room - this would have been an additional $50 to be paid to the hotel as essentionally a bar fine, which I though was way too much, so I passed, and went up to my room to pass out.

While leaving at 6 am, I noticed that there were still chicas in the hotel lobby.

There were a handful of other hotels/bars on the same block as the Hotel Embassy, which is located in an extremely dangerous area of town. Walking about after dark is not recommended.

I just got back from a trip to Caracas on business. The last night I was there, I asked the taxi driver to take me to a strip club. He recommended the Club Angelus. I have no idea where it is, but if your in this town, you will probably be using taxis anyway. The club was exquisite. Probably the fanciest place I have been in, comparable to Mens Club in Mexico City. The girls were mostly 6-8, with about 5 girls rating a 9-10. The best thing about this club is the private rooms that are available. Any girl is available for a price, I think varies by girl. I started talking to one and her price was 88000 Bs. which is about $120. The girls name was Diviana, she was about an 8. I put the total on my visa card with the drinks that I had accumulated (that is awesome putting sex on credit card) The room was really impressive, with private bath, TV, complementary champagne, and 2 condoms! The time was for one hour, but I didnt need all that time. Next time Im in Caracas, I will do this place at least 2 more times. In a city like Caracas, security is always a concern, and I felt very safe and relaxed in this place. I recommend it. The taxi driver also said another similar quality place called Morrison. I would try that next time.

I forgot to mention some hotel recommendations. I stayed at 2 different places during my stay. First was near Sabana Grande, called the Hotel El Condor. Not the best looking place, but clean and quiet for a night. Price, only $40 per night. The other place was in a nicer area, Altamira. Hotel El Cid. This was $50 per night weekend, $70 weekday. Again, clean and quiet, but still not holiday inn standards. It amazing the price of hotel rooms in this city. If you want an american business quality place you have to pay over 150/night. I like to experiment in the midprice range like the ones I mentioned.

Hola, Hombres.
Hey - any of you Sudamérica vets notice any effects from the recent tourism decline on the South American mongering scene? Are there fewer mongers in places like Argentina, Brazil, etc. due to the decline in tourism? If so, are there more available chicas? Lower prices? Longer times? Now might be the time to go...

Mr. Monk:

What's so cool about the $50 suite at the Embassy?

By the monk on Monday, December 17, 2001 - 12:28 am:  Edit

just this; it has two rooms (one sleeping and one with a couch) totally mirrored walls and ceiling, gorgeous bathroom with a seperate shower with one entire wall of which consists of a floor to ceiling window so you can watch your friend shower as you lie in bed watching porno or the news. Works for me. Besides, the smaller rooms are depressing. I'll be there tomorrow.

In Valencia I went to a bar (I forgot the name but I will give it to you later) and talked with the barman. The guy was a Libanese married with a Venezuelian so he decided to stay there. As he spoke French, we talked for a while. That was a very slow night, a Tuesday. We ordered a bottle of Johnny Walker (super popular in Venezuela) and took it eazy but after a few shots I guess we got hot. The barman had his contacts and call us girls... We finally got to the hotel with 3 girls for 2 guys. The girls were all beautiful and all different: one blond, one Mexican style and one in the middle (color cafe). We had a 3 for 2 and had a great time. I was surprised how cheap it was, about 25$ an hour each for the 3 girls... Fantastic. So good actually that we went back to the same bar the week after and did it again, individually, i.e. 2 girl for 2 guy and then switched...

...The scene here is mediocre and expensive and I would imagine that it won't change at all as a result. Unlike Colombia, the better looking girls in Caracas do not work the strip bars and brothels, but can be found in the street and in the discos, where they will stay for now...

A PARADISE, that's what seems to be Caracas concerning escort service. Just have a look on www.sexycaracas.com and look on the Spanish language.
Price for 1 hour between 30-50$
That's much cheaper than an escort girl in Buenos Aires. So why nobody has some reports about it???

The current situation in Venezuela is not good, there is occasional gunfire in the streets, and general unrest. Apart from that, talent in Venezuela is surprisingly expensive.

By Arild1 on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 08:31 am:  Edit

But the prices seem to be 100UD$ for one hour. One girl even charge 600 USD for the hole night. That's much more expensive than Buenos Aires, even if you bargain down the prices abit.

By Volpone on Sunday, March 21, 2004 - 02:47 am:  Edit

Not 100$ but 100 BL. Arild1, go to the Spanish version and you will see that the price is in Bolivar money. So that's nearly 2-3 times cheaper. It depends, where you change your dollars. So a girl on the English page cost 100$ for 1 hour. The same girl on the Spanish page cost between 35-60$. It depends how you bargain with them.

It would seem there is quite a gap between the official and black market exchange rates. Another site mentions a black market rate of 3000 compared to 1900 official.

ReyTJ:

You are exactly right, but the black market is very active. You only get stuck with the crappy rate at venues frequented by tourists and ATM machines.

Does somebody knows a website to rent an apartment for 2-3 weeks in Caracas?

By Lamuerte on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:32 pm:  Edit

I have always been puzzled by the prices for play in Venezuela, especially with their current political/economic climate. Perhaps there just hasn't been much research done. Who knows...but it is for sure that Venezuelan women are, on average, quite beautiful. In Miami they are some of the prettier girls, although not quite like the Colombians. Anyway, I'd love to read more opinions on why prices are the way they are, or if there is just a lack of information on this board.

By Explorer8939 on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:39 pm:  Edit

Let me speculate, for all that is worth:

1) The vast majority of mongering goes on in Caracas, an expensive city along the lines of Mexico City, and we all know how expensive mongering is in Mexico City. The next most common destination is Isla Margarita, an island where chicas must be imported, an expensive proposition.

2) There are now 2 prices for dollars, one official, one black market. If you are paying in black market bolivares, things are much cheaper. Therefore, the locals effectively get a price half what the tourists are paying. You, unfortunately, are a tourist.

By Mitchc on Friday, April 09, 2004 - 10:18 am:  Edit

I agree. I have been actively researching this location for the last few weeks. It appears that if one was able to take advantage of the black market exchange rate after bringing a lot of US cash down there, then the p4p options are pretty good (except for that one girl on sexycaracas with the obscene prices).

By Explorer8939 on Friday, April 09, 2004 - 10:57 am:  Edit

Using the web sites for chicas is not the best way to get good mongering prices in Vzla. You can access the classfied ads in local newspapers, via the web, and you will find much lower prices.

A couple of Caracas massage parlors advertising in El Universal are quoting B30,000 for an hour.At the black market rate that's 10 bucks!

Quinta Cristal in Maracay, Edo. Aragua - Venezuela

Bs 30,000.00 (US$ 10.00) will buy you 30 min with a nice college student. Worth every penny. Arrive early, they opn at nine. Better if you pay the penalty and take it to the hotel with you.

I have a potential gf opportunity in Valencia, not far from Maracay. Is Valencia and Maracay relatively safe places (for a gringo looking man who has adequate Spanish speaking capabilities)? How are the beaches in the area, and is it safe to drive from the towns and beach areas?

According to info at another site the difference between the official and black market exchange rate has narrowed considerably since I posted about in March. Official exchange rate remains around 1900 but the black market has come down to 2400 from 3000.

Since I'm considering a trip to Caracas in late November I've been trying to monitor the parallel exchange rate in Venezuela. I've found a site that does so. It's at http://www.venezuelatuya.com/sociedad/dolarcantv.htm

The parallel exchange rate is the one listed under dolarcantv. It's currently at 2650 compared to the official rate of 1920.

By Explorer8939 on Thursday, July 29, 2004 - 10:26 pm:  Edit

You can get the black market rate quite easily in Caracas.

On the other hand, the mongering ain't that good, and the hotels are expensive, although the chicas are lovely. Just be careful walking around in the dark.
