Is this place open or closed? Went by there in early June around noon and no one was there. any news?
Service and food was really good. Great breakfasts, highspeed wireless and free VOIP for calls back to the states. But are they still open?

He was in May, but for whatever reason he's closed on Sundays I think.
I thought the breakfast was very overpriced - about $R30 last year. Thirty bucks is a lot to pay for breakfast.

I think he is closed permanently now.
"The Office" on Aries Saldanha and Mig Lemus is becoming quite popular. They have a full American breakfast for R$15, quite an extensive lunch and dinner menu (Sweet raved about the lamb chops), small combo band and sports venues piped in on bigscreens. Run by an Aussie guy, John who is a pretty good guy. Some mixed reviews on service but have never had a problem there.
Bring your own bottle of syrup for waffles (don't sell it here) an put your name on it. They will hold it for you like a bottle of whiskey. Otherwise, you get honey for your waffles.

P.S. Before anyone suggests it, I have no connection whatsoever with the Office. Just pointing out a neat new place to eat with good food, atmosphere and prices.
(I do keep a bottle of syrup there though!)

I agree totally with Sandman. "The Office" is a great place for food and watching sports on their many TV's. - Hemp

I have also visited the Office and found it very nice. The owner came by and said that he figured out how to get US college football games. I can get the pro games on my satellite but not the college ones, so this fall on Saturdays, I think that I might be down there for a beer or two particularly if Texas is playing.
