I am heading down again from August 28 to Sept 3rd. I just found out that the oil and gas expo is in town from the 1st to the 5th bringing in 35,000 visitors from all over the world. Hotels are almost all sold out. Can anyone elaborate?

Oil convention means make a hotel reservation & prices will be marginally higher with the girls at Helpe & the Lido clubs. You'll still have a great trip.

I tried to book at room at the Savoy Othon back several months ago & they didn't have any at that point due to the upcoming convention.

The oil & gas thing is something that happens once a year. I personally don't have a recommendation about where to move it so I would delete it.
