Colombian carrier AeroRepublica will go international on Dec. 1 with daily flights to Panama from Medellin, Cali and Cartagena, channeling traffic from and to Latin America through COPA's Hub of the Americas in Panama.

Code sharing would also be used to capitalize on COPA's extensive route structure, which includes most of Latin America and the U.S. In regional traffic, untapped markets on Colombia's Caribbean Coast, such as Cartagena and Barranquilla, would now be linked directly with Panama. To meet these requirements, two new aircraft would soon be added to its all MD80 fleet.
