Best spot visited in the last year? The jungle of Peru...La Amazonia. First place visited was Papa Peranas in Iquitos Peru. What a dance club in the middle of the jungle? As well layed out and filled with entertainment as any club in LA. And, it was filled with tall, slender & very pretty young curly haired morenas. Yummy! Check it out. Met a local girl that worked at one of the local restaurants. She probably was making about $8 a day. Took her to the club where they charged $10 on the weekends just to get in. Danced all night. Ended up back at my hotel, Anaconda.... Rest won't say here. Next morning the owner of the hotel was smiling, patting me on the back and asking how many girls I had had. .....

Mark,

I have been thinking of making a side trip from Lima to Iquitos for some time. Can you give any more details as to logists, orter clubs/bars, etc. I have looked at Travelocity, etc., and can't find any flights to/from Iquitos. What airline did you fly. I assume it was from Lima?

Thanks,

Two carriers flew there as of Jan 07: Lan and Tam. Lan sometimes runs promo rates so you have to shop the fares.

I recently made the trip up to Iquitos from Lima. I flew up on Aero Condor and stayed at he Victoria Regia Hotel. The flight ran around $160 RT and the hotel room approx. $50 per night. The hotel was chica friendly. The bell hop even asked me if I needed a chica. I booked both through Go2Peru.com.

I visited several clubs. Alfil Manoso is a strip club. They charged 10 soles to enter, a beer ran 10 soles, chica drinks were 20 soles, exit fee to take a chica was 50 soles, and chicas are looking for around 200 soles for short time. The night I went there were 8 chicas. There were only 2 that were in my doable range. I paid one of them 200 soles plus the exit fee to the club

Carol and Virginia is another strip club. Here the entrance fee was 20 soles, but included a pitch of beer which can shared with the chicas. Addl. pitchers of beer run 20 soles. Chicas mixed drinks run 20 soles. This club has rooms on-site and the chicas dont seem to want to leave the club. The rooms run 60 soles and the chicas are looking for 200 soles short time. The night I went there were 6 chicas. There was only one girl in my doable range and she was pretty hot.

I also went to a strip club by the name of Emmanuelle. This club cant be connected to the club in Lima with the same name which has hot chicas everynight its open. The club had 8 chicas the night I went and none were in my doable range. The entrance fee was 15 soles which included a pitcher of beer that could be shared with the chicas, addl. pitchers ran 15 soles. The exit fee to take a chica runs 50 soles and the chicas are looking for around 150 soles for short time. I didnt take any chicas out of this club. I dont believe they have rooms on-site.

There is also a disco in town by the name of Noa which is open on weekends. This club draws a large crowd which seems to include mostly non-pros and some semi-pros.

By Copperfieldkid on Friday, November 02, 2007 - 05:20 pm:  Edit

The disco is called nao-nao, near the Plaza de Armis in town. According to a friend of mine there is upwards of 6-7 HUNDRED (yes, hundreds) of girls at this place on Friday and Saturday nights. They come in from neighboring towns and villages. Remember the ratio overall in Peru of women to men is 8-1
These are regular non pros just looking for guys and fun. Talk about getting lucky-----------

CFK, I don't think you need luck there, just being you: handsome, blond w/ blue eyes, and gringo. Is more than enough human bait!

One of these day's I hope to "cum" down and be your co-pilot.

Have you invited Jaguar yet? With both of you there, It would be overkill!

Have fun, sf4dfish

Sf4dfish4,

flattery will get you everywhere; I have not even discussed a trip with Jag, I don't want the entire country's economy ruined over appliance purchases.
Lucy keeps him on a short rope in Brazil, I on the other hand am a free agent, bouncing between the two countries, remaining emotionally detached!
Yep, keeping those perspectives in check as Blissman calls it...
You are more than welcome to come down and enjoy the festivities (don't tell Jag). It's been awhile hasn't it?

RT here. Although it may sometime seem that the ratio of men to women in Peru is 8 to 1, according to both Wikipedia and this other site I found, there are 1.01 males for every female aged 15-64 in Peru.

I'm no scientist, but if the 8 to 1 ratio were true, it would seem that the population would die out in just a few generations.

Sorry.

RT, obviously I am a breeder and not a mathmatician, however I only go where the odds are 8:1, does that count for anything?
I always like to keep it in my favor......

CFK
PS: going down to Lima next week for 4-5 days, and again at Thanksgiving, let me know if you'll be around.

Iquitos update:

For Noa-noa, adddress is Fitzcarrald 298 (corner of Fitzcarrald & Pevas, 2 blks from Plaza de Armas.

Excellent place to eat outside and also meet people: Gringo Bar, 1/2 blk from Plaza de Armas on Putumayo (168)
Good outdoor bar: Arandu where everone hangs out is 2 blks away from Gringo Bar (walk to Amazon river at end of block, turn left, go 1 blk) on the Malecon. Afternoons and evenings this place fills up.

Gringo Bar has several sports hook-ups for watching events. [Owner is big UT fan]

The alligator at both places is excellent.

Hi, CFK/RT, checked on kayak, only LAN goes from Lima to Iquitos, it sounds like a fun place, cost is $500. Do you know of any other airlines?

Of course, anybody else can throw in their 2 centavos.

By Copperfieldkid on Monday, November 10, 2008 - 12:17 pm:  Edit

Furysys,

$500 is insane! Most I have paid for any RT destination in Peru was $180, and usually there is always a "sale" to most Peruvian destinations for $150 RT. I would wait until you have arrived in Lima and see what you can do. Tam should provide service also [At one time Aero Peru did too]. Good luck, remember it will be very warm/hot in Iquitos so pack accordingly.

RT here. Nope, Only LAN. When gas went through the roof, most of the local Peruvian airlines threw in the towel.

My only suggestion (and I hate this one) would be to wander into one of the zillions of travel agents in Miraflores and ask what is available. I can not believe that if you wanted to go there in, say, two days from when you walk in, that it would run you any more than $250.00

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Wow, quick response, thanks. I did check on peru2go.com, they have aero condor for about $300 US round trip. Kayak never has all the local airlines, so I am not surprised. Iquitos sounds like a fun place, I've never been to Peru, and you guys sure make it sound good. I can get by in Spanish (if they speak slow enough), I assume there is very little English out there. I'll maybe book in Lima. Living here in the neo-Arctic, I'd like a little heat.

By Copperfieldkid on Monday, November 10, 2008 - 04:29 pm:  Edit

Thanks for the airline update RT, and I agree with purchasing the ticket in Lima at an agency. They will be able to crosscheck for a lower fare or any specials. BTY, Aero Condor flies some pretty strange Russian aircraft, could be interesting. [One type looks like the old Foker F-27 if you are familiar, a large turboprop]
If the fares are reasonably close I suggest Lan, for both comfort and safety reasons.

Prices TO South America from Canada have definitely dropped. Can go toronto-Lima for $800 US, that is about 50% less than the summer. I'll follow your advice and book for Iquitos down there, at one of the zillion travel agencies (are there really that many??)

By Copperfieldkid on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 - 05:25 pm:  Edit

Not to worry, plenty of agencies. Also the various carriers have airline ticket offices [ATO's] in Miraflores.

By Gooch, RTGooch on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 - 05:51 pm:  Edit

I can confirm the zillion count on the travel agencies.

Most business streets in Miraflores sport one (some have two or more).

Her Fur.... Why don't you talk CFK out of retirement and let him fly you down there?? No Balls?? He's only had a few crashes and most of the passengers survived.

By Copperfieldkid on Thursday, November 13, 2008 - 05:31 pm:  Edit

Latinalover,

I do have plenty of talent and experience . I just don't give a damn.

I'd like to meet up with you someday, CFK, not sure I'd want you to be my pilot. Having said that, I don't know the qualifications of any of these SA pilots, so you'd probably be no worse

Furysys, you might try Star Peru, here's a link:
