Hi guys! I’m only going to write a quick view of what I experienced in Venezuela. I have been to many fun mongering countries, but this is not one of them. I stayed on the island called Margarita. It takes about 40 minutes by plane from the main Island. In fairness I will say that it is a very cheap place to go.

You have to pick the right time to go there, otherwise it’s very quiet. I think January is good and summertime. If you want to get a tan, then it’s great! Always hot and I mean very hot. The food and drink is amazingly cheap. I think it was 30 cents a bear from the bar. I’m not joking. There are girl friendly hotels and they cost $25 a night, or about $300 a month. To be fair they were also very safe too. However we were all mugged at some point in the holiday. One Swiss chap twice in one day! This is a very dangerous place!! If you go out at night, then always take a taxi from door to door. We were attacked 10 meters from the hotel along with many others.

Anyway, there were a few ladies there. They were not very good looking, so if you have been to Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Brazil or Thailand then you will be very disappointed. However like anywhere there were a few nice ones. The sex is very good and very cheap. You pay around $10 - $30 an hour. The girls are pretty dirty too and will try anything. I went to a couple of strip clubs, but their not like the Costa Rica or Colombia places.

My view is if you want to try a very cheap place to have limited fun, then go, stay safe and have a laugh! I will not be going back! There are many better places to go. Hope this helps, didn’t mean it to be negative but this place sucked.

Perhaps I was in a safer area (by the Hilton in Porlamar), but I was never attacked while I was there, and I never felt any lack of safety, even when I staggered out of Senor Frog's back to the hotel.

Senor Frog, by the way, is now closed...two gringo's got assassinated there a little while ago over an altercation over a girl with some Venezuelan’s. I am so very surprised this shit doesnt happen more often in Colombia. Maybe in time unfortunately its bound to happen with the Gringo influx there.
