Nope, my Portuguese is still pretty primitive, and negotiating anything other than price is difficult. I would love to get today's morena up to my apartment, though.

BTW, not all the sex hotels are as bad as earlier posts suggest. The room I was in today was passably clean, with a functional shower and a fresh sheet on the mattress, although I would still bring a towel if I thought I would need to shower there.

The girl has a lot to do with how the room looks. One decorated her room with Christmas lights. Others have set up stereos and TVs. I think many of them live there.

I've been told that the room and FEES costs the girl about 100R per day. If you're considering propositioning her bear that in mind. Also the houses shut at about 11pm as the area is too dangerous for the girls after that. If she still has the energy for yet another trick at that hour.

Sounds like Amsterdam. Before venturing into Brazil, I had many a brasileira in the RLDs of Den Haag. They lead me to Brazil for the real thing.

Here's my most recent new-city post, Belo Horizonte, Brasil:

I stayed in Belo for 3 days in April of '05. It's a clean, modern city on the level of a mini Sao Paulo. Savassi is the place to stay (I stayed at the Parthenon My Place -- it was fine; 130R/night).

The scene here in Belo is a little (or a lot, depending on how you look at it) overpriced. While the scene is pretty good, it could be a whole lot better considering Belo is a city of pretty good size.

The main clubs include: New Sagitarius, Crystal, Telmo Club, Siaonara, Skorpius, and New Scotch Bar. In only went to New S. and Crystal.

Both charge about 35R for an entrance fee, 15R for drinks and about 40R for an exit fee for the girl. Neither place had on-site facilities.

New Sagitarius is reputedly the best place in town. On any given night they have 50-60 girls walking around. Many over-dressed 6s with implants. But, luckily, there are enough 7s and 8s to make it worth the trip. Beware of off-the-meter cabbies parked out front. They'll double-charge you if you don't insist on their using the meter. Most girls here asked for a flat rate of 250R for 3-or-so hours. Not bad -- but a little pricy all things considered.

Crystal boite is a step down (maybe a half step down). Same basic design but it's a lot smaller and the girls seem a little more predatory. I talked to two (somewhat self-righteous cuties) who both wanted 300R for not much time. One even had the nerve to only offer 1.5 hours at that price. BBBJ out of the question. WTF!! I wouldn't go back -- but you never know; you could be the guy who finds the 5-star inexpensive sex freak in there. Dunno.

The other clubs are basically the same (probably cheaper as they descend in quality). The next two places (rated in quality) would probably be Telmo Club and Skorpius. New Scotch is apparently pretty low end. Again, dunno. All are in Sarvassi (pretty much).

The SW scene is along Av. Afonso Pena on the Savassi side (as contrasted to the rodoviaria side). The girls hang out more-or-less starting at Av. Rio Branco. Some cuties. Worth a look.

I did not go to the low-end clubs/hotels along Rua Gualcurus (read below for a fuller description of them). R. Gualcurus is at a 45 degree right, next to the rodoviaria (bus station). Can't miss it. I tend to like Brasilian low-end scenes; check it out, but be security conscious (though the area didn't look too bad).

There's probably a whole lot more here. I never found it, but I stayed mostly in Savassi. It's a big city; the local paper is always a good resource for more info. Good luck.

thanks for this concise and informaative report on a city I have had in mind since my first trip to Rio 3 yrs. ago; when I met this tall, beautiful honey from there.

Ok. So the latest on Belo Horizonte - there are definitely lots of beautiful women here, but just as there are beautiful women, there are plenty of young, surfer body type brasileiros hot on their trail. That myth of more women than men, well...in my observations after 2 weeks of clubbing, shopping at all the malls, drinking at the bars is that it is simply...not true. For every beautiful minera, there are at least 2 young brasileiros available to her, and you being a gringo does not really have a serious impact on women as many may say.

I read that there are clubs where women are looking to get laid or just make-out with men...I can tell you I hit just about every major dance club and bar...I did not see the women outnumber the men at anytime, nor did I see women readily available to make-out with you after a few drinks and dancing - and I consider myself a good looking guy. Sometimes there were a lot more men than women...which was the case every time I hit the non-pro club "NASALAS" which happens to be the most happening club in Belo.....but the crowd is VERY young, so if you are in your mid 30's (or above) you will not fit in too well, unless you have the body of a california surfer and look to be in your 20's. Even if you did have an athletic body, and were good looking YOU WOULD STILL have a hard time picking up a non-pro for fun as there are plenty of yound dudes on the hunt like you. I speak fluent Portuguese, and it was still not easy.

The pro scene is pretty much the same as described above with New Saggitarius being the top choice, but I was not impressed by the selection. I found Millenium in Sao Paolo, and Centarus in Rio better..the massage casas are ok, I did not do the cheap torres, as I wanted to concentrate on picking up a beautiful non-pro which unfortunately, did not happen on this trip. Every mineira girl seems to latch on to a boyfriend quickly for the simple fact that SUNDAY-WED...there is NOTHING to do in BELO. All bars/clubs etc are pretty much dead. In summation, Belo is a cool place to come and visit once, but I would not give up the pro-scene in Sao Paolo or Rio for what is available here. Non-pros are very beautiful, I guess if you have more than 2 weeks here you will have better luck picking one up, and you MUST speak Portuguese - if you do manage to scoop one up, you will have yourself a gem for sure. The best way to hook-up with a non-pro is to make friends with other guys and have their girlfriends hook you up with their amigas. I don't see myself returning to Belo unless I have business there, I will opt for Fortaleza next time.


Savassi has all the great bars/restaurants, but again, don't expect to be the center of attention because you are americano, if you don't look like a young surfer "dude"...your chances are very slim of dating any non-pro woman in Belo.

Best Dance non-pro Nightclub: NaSala

Best Mall for girl watching: Diamond Mall Barrio Lourdes

Best Pro club: New Saggitarius (take-out only) going rate 250 plus 40 exit fee reais.

Best Trendy Restaurant: My favorite was at BH platinum hotel in Lourdes next to diamond mall. Famous for its gourmet Pizzas and steaks.

Best Beer bar: Lobos. Plenty of bars in savassi area...Thur-Sat only! No action any other days.

Did you try Crystal or the other one (forgot name)? I really liked the girl-watching at Cidade Shopping. It was also a great contrast with the super sketchy cheap torres which are located nearby.

yeah I did try Crystal, and Skorpius....I found the latter to have a better selection and definitely more bang for your buck. Crystal had a couple of hot stunners, but they had the nerve to charge me 400 reais for 2hrs - the other girls at Crystal who were in the 6-7 range were happy taking 150 reais for 3 hrs, so I took a dupla from there instead.

Negotiations really depend on your Portuguese skills, the more local lingo you know, the better chances of getting a better rate. The girls performed very well, and did not rush anything in bed. They get an A for effort - they had no problems going a few rounds with me during our time together and offered to come back on their own time for more fun.

Looks like I'm going to be spending a few nights next week in Belo Horizonte. Somebody PLEASE tell me that there's something happening in this city.

Arrived Monday afternoon and went out to business dinner that ended at a club called Skorpyus. Not cheap but I ended up going home with a solid 7.5 Mineira named Michele who was great. Paid R$400 to the club (by credit card) and took her home for the night. She was a little firecracker. I like the small ones and she did not disappoint.

Got to talking to the bar tender at the Best Western Belo Horizonte, where I am staying, and he suggested (sotto voce) that I take a walk down Rua Guaicurus which is less than a mile from the Best Western (which is girl friendly BTW). Basically Rua Guaicurus is an area of town down by the bus station that is a bit run down but has a series of hotels that have seen better days. The best of these is Hotel Brilliante located at 660 Rua Guaicurus. You walk into the hotel and go up the stairs. There are two floors of former hotel rooms that are now occupied by working girls. There are two shifts with the early shift being from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and the late shift going until Midnight. Each room has a girl in it and if the door is open or ajar, the girl is open for business. If it's closed, then she is busy. Some of the girls are downright un-abashed and standing buck naked in the door coaxing you in. Others are wearing a g-string and bikini. I saw some who were on all fours with their naked pussy pointed towards the door for advertizing.

If you see one you like, you walk in, close the door and negotiate. I went this evening and found a nice 24 year old Mineira who was sitting on the bed with her back to the door reading a book. I was intrigued and walked in saying hello. I paid her $R70 for an hour and got a great work-out in several positions. Heck of a deal. She told me that I should come early in the day when the girls are fresh. Many of these girls are housewives to get the kids off to school and then show up at 9:00 AM for work. Crazy.

Anyhow - no shortage of P4P opportunities in BH, I am learning, with facilities for all budgets. I have one more night in BH before heading for Rio so I may get to the famous New Sagittarius Club. But after the 660 I'm not sure I'm ready to pay those prices. Michele gave me her phone number so I'll bet she will give me a better deal if I call her outside the club.

Wow, I think I paid like $30R in the same building and that included two anal sessions with two different hot girls in two different rooms. Cleanup is certainly an issue at that place. Gotta love the Skol vending machines at the ends of the hallways though.

Your mileage with definitely vary from house to house in the Guayacrus (sp?) area. Brillante and one or two others are the high end it seems. The most I ever spent was 40R to fuck a gorgeous, pale-skinned patricinha who was stuck up as hell and not much of performer, but it was great to look at that body while doing her doggy. The cheapest I ever spent for a fuck was 5R to an older gal who was actually ok and spoke English; I usually tip them as well, but this time I didn’t just so I could break my record for the lowest I ever spent, and this was when it was 3.5R to the dollar. Not all the houses are on Guayacrus itself, some can even be on the other side of that big avenue (forgot the name, maybe Santos Dumont?), and there are always houses shutting down and new ones popping up. I saw one being raided by the police and fire department (the place was a real dump) from my hotel window and watched as they threw all the filthy mattresses onto the street. Some of the houses and women are something out of a bad dream. The neighborhood itself is bad – I’ve stayed in it for a while, and can tell you it is best to curfew yourself from 11pm to dawn (the city seems to be in full swing by 7am). A lot of houses close down at 11pm because it’s too dangerous for the girls to leave after that. In some of them you’ll get the old pros (and I mean OLD) with signs on their doors proclaiming “queen of the blowjob” and such (anyone else remember the old woman in the movie 'Barfly'? "Nobody can swallow paste like me!"). Then you find a real cute one among them who charges 10R, an extra 5 for booty.
When I’m traveling around the country I like to stop in BH for a few days and take in the houses and stay nearby. Go for a session after breakfast, before the lunchtime crowd converges, and then another one or two in later in the day. And even if you get a dud it’s so cheap you can save your shot and just go look for another.
A word of advice: dress down.

Well, I went back this morning to 660 Rua Guaicurus to check out the morning shift. Much better pickings. The girls are fresher and the prices are better. I paid R$50 for an hour for a 19 year old Loira who looked waaaay too nice to be there. But I am certainly not complaining.

In the light of day, I checked out a few other places and 660 is certainly the cleanest the the least scary of the group. I went into 648 and it was not pretty. Pretty skanky conditions and pretty scary looking girls. Might stop by again tomorrow morning and check out a few more. Heading back to Rio tomorrow afternoon and have a hot date lined up with a non-pro. Since I have been getting my "weasel waxed" twice a day here in BH, I think I will be pretty relaxed tomorrow night and might just get lucky.

This thread has probably ended up in the wrong category, but I've been in Rio now since Thursday night and have been with the same non-pro the whole time. It's now 6:45 AM Monday morning and she just left my room to go to work (some sort of admin in a law office). Thirty year old divorced gal whose two kids were with their father for the weekend. Met her in Proforma (gym on Prudente de Morais) of all places on the last trip in November. Great body (thanks to the gym) spoke very basic English, so we spoke Portuguese most of the time. On my surprise visit to Bazil last week I had Thursday and Friday night in Bel Horizonte. Thursday I hooked up with my usual little namorada temporario - the 22 year old blonde bombshell who's an accounting student.

Found ads for the upscale clubs (Crystal, New Sagitarius, Sayonara, Skorpius...) in the Guia Turistico available at hotels.

SGs/SWs working nites in Praca Rio Branco near Rodoviaria, & on the corner of Santos Dumot & Curitiba, mostly trannies. Also some in Praca Sete. Many motels nearby.

Can someone recommend a good hotel in Belo...fairly priced...or a good area to look for a hotel. I would like something withing walkin distance to as much action as possible....the boates & clubs. Also, a hotel in which I have no hassles to bring a girl. What section are these clubs Crystal, New Sagitarius, Sayonara, Skorpius in and are they good areas of the city? Also, is there other action in these areas such as restaurants, normal clubs and discos?

Most of the clubs are in Savassi. I have stayed in thos hotel http://www.maxsavassi.com.br/en/default1.asp. It is in walking distance from Crystal and a short cab ride to New Sagitarius. Savassi is an upscale district with lots of restaurants and other night life.

I stayed at the Parthenon in Savassi and liked it very much. Great Italian food (with rodizio) across the street too.

I always stay at the Promenade Platinum (www.promenade.com.br) in Lourdes. It's right beside Diamond Mall. Good price, good food, they NEVER bat an eye when you come in with a GDP and NEVER seem to ask for registration. It's walking distance to EXCELLENT restaurants and is a short cab ride to the clubs. I never want to be TOO close to those clubs. I used to stay at the Caesar Business in Belvedere but it was just tooooo far and the fuckers wanted not only to register my guests but made me PAY extra. No thanks. I prefer Platinum now.

If you ever get back to BH, you can try the IBIS Hotel as well. R$139, or R$119 weekends, with no extra charges
