Hello Gents,

I took advantage of the long Memorial day weekend and got down to Medellin last Thursday 5-25-06. I stayed at the Castillo but I will report on that separately.

I really looked forward on this trip to visit the new competition the boys at the Medellin Mansion and Castillo will be facing, Club VIP.

Now for those unfamiliar with Medellin let me quickly say that the Mansion and the Castillo are in the El Poblado area and just a few blocks from the Oviedo Mall. Club VIP is located about 3 Kilometers from Oviedo Mall/the Mansion going down ave Poblado towards the Envigado area.

Club VIP is a VERY nice place to call home if you are planning to stay in Medellin. The rooms are varied (10 in all) from a couple of simple hotel like rooms to ridiculously large ones (one is so big that a pool table is going in soon). For right now the rates are $40 to $80 because they have not yet officially opened. There is a website being developed and will give a kick ass interactive tour of the place so I'm just posting a few stock photos that DJAnselmo previously posted.

DJAnselmo is a good friend of mine. He introduced me to the owners of Club VIP, Albert and Tom. Both gentlemen are stand up, salt of the earth type guys. I really liked meeting them and they made me feel at home as well as they do their guests they had staying with them.

I had a tour of Cub VIP and must say it is stunning in beauty. Like I mentioned before, some of the guest bedrooms are large. A couple are larger than your average studio apartment. A few have large oversized beds as well. All are very nicely appointed and all rooms have air conditioning. The Harley Davison room is actually like a coach house and is where the pool table will be put in. Another room has a small living/tv area inside as well as a large aquarium and awesome furnishings, a real sight to impress the ladies.

The swimming pool is elegant although for some reason the builders did not give much room around the pool for pool furniture. Several large high rise buildings face the pool area so unless high trees are planted in the future, the pool area is not private or hidden.

The guys have refurnished the main livingroom with oversized leather couches and lovely decor. A true home feeling and relaxing mood exists.

The kithcen is large but apparently off limits to the guests as a sign points out. Breakfast and laundry is included in the room rate.

A new bar area was just finished being put in the Saturday I visited where once was the dining room.

Because of the election on Sunday, it was a dry weekend meaning that all bars and discos and clubs would be closed Saturday and Sunday. Albert and Tom were throwing a party today and invited me to come. FOr non -guests attending the party it was $40usd or $99,000 COP per person or couple and included all drinks and food. It was about 6pm so I decided to go back to the Castillo and rest up a bit and returned to Club VIP with a friend at about 9:30pm which was apparently early because there were only the house guests and no women.

The girls that Albert an Tom invited as well as other guests started arriving at about 11pm. Soon the place was filled with beautiful women and well to do gents.

For the most part the girls were what we mongers deem as "Good Girls". It was apparent that they were not the jump in the sack variety. A few visiting guests brought their girlfriends as well. One guy did invite two "working girls" and after a couple of hours slipped into his room with both never to be seen again for the night.

The distance of the rooms from the main area is ideal because the sounds coming from either do not travel well and therefore each bedroom is very private.

The music was dance type CD's being played on a house stereo. There really is no dance floor, however.

Overall it was a nice house party. Definitately different than a monger party but it was a good opportunity for meeting regular girls. it was also nice to meet several business men staying at the house as guests.

I returned two days later (Monday) with a friend and our dates to drop off some pictures I had taken of some girls at the party. I met with Tom and he showed my friend and our dates around. The girls loved the place.

Club VIP has an attentive staff including Andrea who is the assistant to Albert and Tom and speaks english. The other staff and full time security are also very nice. They offer wireless internet and free calling to and from the USA and Canada.

As nice as the place looks now, Albert and Tom told me that they have alot more they are doing before the grand opening later this month (June).

Albert also owns a farm on a lake about 90 minutes away from Medellin where that big granite rock sticks out of the water (I forget the name of the area). Club VIP will offer tours to the farm and lakes for watersking and other watersports which is where Albert was on the Monday I visited again with Tom.

Overall Club VIP is an excellent place to stay. It would be unfair to compare it to the Mansion or the Castillo because it just has a different air to it. If one has a regular girlfriend or enjoys a more relaxed atmosphere I would suggest a stay here. I noted that many of the current guests were not the massage parlor or strip joint type guys but more business like with a more eagerness to seek out non-pro opportunities.

I know others will stay at Club VIP and have more to say about it, but I wanted to give you a sneak preview. I'll be happy to pass along anymore information about the website coming online if you send me an e-mail at cub_nut@yahoo.com

I do hope that this report was helpful and I don't get accused of spamming as I was when I gave reports and still do about the Mansion and Castillo because that is what this board is about, sharing information.

At first there was the Playboy-Penthouse (now gone), then The Mansion and El Castillo. Now they are joined by Club VIP and who knows what's next? As Medellin gets more and more popular there is sure to be more to come. I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on hotel alternatives.

Cheers,

Cubanut

Cuba, nicely done. I stayed at Club VIP for 3 nights with the lovely but psycho Valentina. Had the large room with the black sunken jacuzzi. The staff was very accomodating, brought us breakfast to the room each day, the pool wasn't heated as of my visit in late april. They were still in a bit of a construction mode but let me know that ahead of time. All in all a very classy place to stay and definitely does have a different "feeling" about it. You won't find working girls hanging around Club VIP, but you are welcome to bring your own. I didn't get to meet Tom, but I did meet Albert and he was very helpful. Andrea was a hottie as well as a sweetie.

Sparky,

Good to hear you survived Valentina's wrath. I guess I'm lucky to have never been on her recieving end. Did you get the girl to eat as well? She is beautiful but a bit thin these days. The construction is done at VIP's now as well.

Gents,

Many of you PM'd me and pointed out that I gave out an incorrect email address. It should have read cuba_nut@yahoo.com

By the way instead of me PMing back everyone:

Here is Club VIP contact info:

Address: Cra 41 # 21 Sur 161
Phone: (4) 313 7009 (House)
1-240-235-9488 (INTL line)

Ask for Albert, Tom or Andrea.

Cheers,

f your going to travel all the way to Colombia from the USA. Here is a few good reasons you might want to stay at the BRAND new VIP CLUB.

1) Vip Club: Huge place that is spread out with new amenities.
2) Owned by an American that truly understands the term "5 star service"
3) Tom (owner) and Albert (GM) sincerely take a back seat to your fun. ie.... not getting more drunk that the guests they are taking out. Front of the line privledges at local clubs. Ps. mangos is not the only club to go to in Medellin. Furthermore Mangos is more of a date club.
4) VIP does not ask for the ladys number that you met and brought back to the place where your paying your hard earned money to stay to have her "as part of the lineup) when you leave Medellin. :-(
5) Vip Club does not have the reputation of a "puta" hangout just in case you might want to bring over a "normal" lady.
6) Huge security gate manned 24 hours a day! No one and I mean no one can just walk up to the front door.
7) Each VIP room has telephones that call out and from room to room for free!
8) VIP has larger refriderators that are fully stocked (full bar) with bottles of whisky, rum, vodka, (other alcohols),redbulls, gatorade, water, coke,. They also have other items that they give complimentary. Ps the prices are not overly inflatted. I think they are only marked up 10%. The owner and Albert are not penny pinching guys. Having a full selection is great when you have a hot chick in your room.
9)They give you the current exchange rate. NOTE: Always pay in pesos at the current rate. One of my previous reports proved how "other" establishments charge you the american dollar rate that is not in your best interest. Remember the dollar is powerfull in Colombia. This is why we come there right? Of course they are showing you on the websites the dollar rate since this is what you understand. However Tom and Albert make your USA dollar goes alot farther!
10) Albert is truly a stand up guy and he speaks perfect spanish and english (colombian&german) as he has lived in Colombia/Medellin for over 13 years. He is connected very well with the locals. Robert (El Castillo) is equally a suave guy! Can't say enough about Robert as he is a very nice professional guy as well!
11) The VIP is very spread out and the rooms are less expensive than what you would get at the Mansion (aussie gregs). NOTE; Photos

12) Not the same ole putas hanging out with a fixed inflated rate to be with them. I have heard a recent story of a guy that left the Mansion (aussies') after not being happy with the service and was welcomed with open arms at the VIP. He told me that the girls were charging 200,000 pesos for 1 hour!! The other "dancer" wanted $300,000 just for a strip tease no sex!! What the hell is this about? Kinda makes you wonder about the roomer of a cut that is being handed over to who??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... :-(

Conclusion: There are many places to stay in Medellin for a great time. To each his own. I'm just tired of hearing all these sugar coated brown nosing threads. I think my controversial thread will bring to the surface a clear and balanced look at the mansion / aussie greg!

PS: This is my opinion. Whats yours?

I have looked at the website and I've talked with a lot of people, it looks great.

I actually have never had any bad experiences with Greg. However I have noticed a significant amount of burnout on his part during my last trip. I think this is largely due to living the life 24x7. He partied with us every night/all night on my first trip. He only was with us one night this last trip.

He may be just getting too involved in his own business to realize its a business.

A matter of fact, a friend of mine just finished a month at the Mansion yesterday and he told me that Greg blew up one night. He indicated that he probably wouldn't stay there again.

I feel kind of bad. All of my dealings with Greg have been pretty good. Sure he deals in dollars, I'm ok with that, the rate for a room was a little high but well within the range I expect to pay.

I certainly understand he has his hands in all dealings coming out of the Mansion. I know that he got a kickback from the Dentist on my first trip, a kickback from the gym, and a kickback from the realtor and attorney he set me up with. To tell you the truth, I'm not fully happy with that. But I understand he needs to make a living somehow and if I am out a few bucks for "finders fees", I've come to terms with that as well. Not thrilled, but I accept it at face value.

I get along with Lina and Marisol handsomely. I even spent some time in the other clubs with Marisol.

I am going back in September. I would certainly like to stay at the Mansion, but I know my friend is having second thoughts. So in reality, I probably won't be staying there.

I have a little bit of a loyalty issue because as I said earlier, I have a lot of dealings with Greg and have never exchanged a bad word nor have I seen him blow up. Robert is also a good guy.

Anyway, the point will be moot, I will have an apartment in September.

Club VIP

1. It probably is the nicest of the B & B places. Very luxurious as it was probably built with drug money.

The owner, Tom is a good guy, very laid back as he wants to not be involved in the day to day operations.

2. The GM, Albert is also a nice guy but oversells and underdelivers.

It is a new place and is correcting problems as they crop up....like any new business. It is surprising that the problems I noticed were not with the facility itself.

All in all, a very quiet place and more private than the Mansion. If you have a novia or have plenty of phone numbers and can get girls on your own, then it is a nice place to stay.

The regular rooms at $50 are good value. The best Master Bedroom, IMO is room 5. Master Bedroom 9, while large and private (as it is its own separate building) currrently has no air conditioning.

By Scrubb on Tuesday, August 08, 2006 - 05:11 am:  Edit

By the way, as KB says above, they pay "ATTETION TO DETAIL". Yes there is something missing!

Tom needs to kick some butt.

By Sniper on Tuesday, August 08, 2006 - 07:56 am:  Edit

I was going to stay at VIP this next trip so I called Albert. He said he needed to switch phones and he would call me back.

Its been 3 weeks, I guess he isn't calling back.

So I'm staying at the Dann Carlton.

The Mansion is out this trip because I am meeting with some executives from Carrefour and a few restaurants about importing American wines. I don't need hookers running around the pool fucking that up for me.

But for the record, I may rent a room there one night if they have a party scheduled. I still get along with Greg well enough, eventhough he had a run in with a good friend of mine last trip.

By Scrubb on Tuesday, August 08, 2006 - 01:19 pm:  Edit

Sniper,

The Mansion has no common area for a party other than the pool as the living room/tv room has been turned into another bedroom.

Club VIP would be ideal for a party if you could arrange it. We had but was surprised to find that we had to get permission to have a party, and then could only drink the house booze for any parties, I think after they saw me coming in with an armload of booze. Anything would have to be agreed upon first.

By Sniper on Tuesday, August 08, 2006 - 03:41 pm:  Edit

The room was being built last time I was there. I think that was a mistake but Greg knows what room requirements he has, I don't.

Having to buy house booze is a bit tacky if you ask me.

I'll tell you, once my apartment is set up, parties at my house....BYOB. Bring your own booze and bitches!

By Fun4sven on Saturday, August 19, 2006 - 11:54 am:  Edit

I got the number from Albert and called him in Medellin. He promised me to call me back in 20 minutes and to take me out with some other guys. Unfortunately Albert didn't call me back. Sorry, but he didn't pass my service quality test. I will never stay at this place.

By Slysgame on Sunday, August 20, 2006 - 10:46 am:  Edit

Sniper,
Party at your place, I guess I will have to take you up on that. I hope is all is well. Take care.

Sly,

I have your email, I'll let you know when I am there. I know you won't be around when I'm there on September 6th.

If that changes, let me know.

Others, shoot me an email on this site if you are in town. If I am there, we can hook up!

I stayed at Club VIP for the last week of May and can recommend it as a good place to stay. It's more lowkey and not quite a frat house like the Mansion. Also more quieter than the Mansion due to the arrangement of the rooms.

Other people also feel the same way and that's why it attracts a lot of regulars who return every month or so.

Also a good place to bring back non-pros since you won't be tripping over ho's everywhere - albert doens't encourage ho's to hang out, unlike the mansion.

Hi, I've stayed at Club VIP twice and thought it was great. I see that Marcy left (based on another trip report). Does anybody have any recent info, as I want to go in mid/late June

thanks

Too bad Marcy left, did you read that in the Jonesie Report? He posted some nice photos of her.

Marcy sent out a bunch of photos of her with various friends in December. The one in the blue dress was a girlfriend or something of the manager, so unfortunately also not on the menu. She was breathtaking.

Vladimir, yeah, Marcie sent me the same bunch of pictures in November, I guess. I wouldn't be too sure the one in the blue dress isn't available. She was always hanging around when I was last there, and Kevin always seemed to want to get rid of her. Mind you, that was back in December 2007, so things may have changed. She probably went with Marcie to the Mansion.
