On the ground in Copa and noticed these mesquito like bumbs on the backs of my arms and upper back. They look like mesquito bites but they don't itch. Of course I'm thinking hooker bugs of some sort or another but thought surely some of you know what this may be. I've been the beach several days and lay on my back and arms alot. I've played safe every time. I think remember seeing a thread somewhere about this sort of thing in Rio but I couldn't find it doing several key word searches.

Another possibility is heat rash.

Or bedbugs. If he's been laying on his back in the sand, it could be from there as well.

Would you kindly explain what the hell "hooker bugs" are? Thanking you in advance

It is possible to pick up skin irritations from sheets that get a lot of traffic. Also, when hanging around your room or apartment with your shirt off (etc) consider all the other things that may have been rubbed against that furniture your bare skin is in contact with.

Heat rash or prickly heat should be bumpy.
Bedbugs would be my guess...got some of those at the Haitian border....they should go away w/in a few days w/o intervention..

Its probably scabies which I got once in Rio and ended up giving to my GF at home. They are basically little bugs that you get through skink to skin contact or even from furniture and bedding. There's an over the counter cream that you can buy and cover YOUR ENTIRE BODY in for 12 hours that should get rid of it. I believe that lotion is called NIX. Make sure you wash all your bedding back and clothing back home. The alternative to not washing all your stuff is putting them in a bag and dumping them in the garage for about a week.

Did anyone see the video on the internet about the lady that was in Costa Rica and got a maggot in her head and the had to remove it? Pretty gross. In fact, if you Google "Maggot head" it will come up. Check it out. Good stuff. AZ

Azguy,
First, you get shit in a garota's hair and now you bring up this maggot in a woman's head; maybe you need a well deserved vacation.
At least you're taking some of the heat off of me; I thank you for that.
Can't wait to read your next post!

Hooker bugs, shit in the hair, prickly heat, this sport is downright dangerous!

Could be sand fleas/flies too if you recently visited the beach. Those suckers bite hard in swarms. They will even lay their eggs under your skin and when they hatch they eat you until they are mature enough to fly away.
