i visited hook on tue between xmas & nye. arrived at 11:30p or so. 15+ girls, less than 10 men.

no entry fee, i assumed one drink min, our beer and water were $15ea.

chica drink is $20, but of course mine had to order tia marie, which i managed to talk her into a champagne (as we'd have a bottle at my place, so 'let's keep it the same, right mi amor?'), $24.

refused bbbj, and attempted to ask for money first (of course not until after our 40 minutes on the couch of flirting had moved into the bed, and then after we're naked)... naturally, she chose to accept payment later when she realized she would not receive it before-hand! she bailed quickly after our 1 hr in the sack, so i really didn't even get 2 hrs total.

Is this US dollars or peso?

It's pesos. Hook's is one of the cheaper boliches in Buenos Aires. I think I've seen that girl in there before. I rarely pull a girl out of Hook's. Only a few times.

Hook's rarely gets too packed. Usually there are always more chicas than guys. I've had better luck in Recoleta clubs picking girls that are my style.

It's a hit or miss place but the prices are usually good. The low number of hombres keeps the prices low.

After dinner, I resumed my search and went to Downtown, first to Hooks and then to Cattos. Both places still ask for the same prices as 3 months ago (HOOKS: ar$12 mandatory drink, ar$18 the girl drink, ar$100-150 per girl short term // CATTOS: ar$10 mandatory drink, ar$20 the girl drink, ar$100-150 per girl short term). Also, both places had the same girls as 3 months ago, with no one calling my attention. Hooks and Cattos had 20-25 girls each.

A few nights ago, I visited Hook for the first time in a year. The fee structure here is a beer costs 30 pesos and you have to buy a chica a 50 peso drink to take her out for short time. I don't know how chica drinks are required to take her out for all night. I very rarely take chicas overnight and only when I know them well.

I struck up a conversation with a very friendly attractive 26 year old mulatta. She indicated that she had worked in a privado prior to starting work at Hook about 6 weeks ago. I decided that I would to take her out for an hour or so in the hotel. She did well during my short interview until she said she doesn't do BBBJ's. I told her that I no longer take chicas that do CBJ's and I would have to pass on her. There were quite a few girls working and I would seek out seek out someone else. I'm a buyer, not a looker. Right away she caved in agreed to a BBBJ. We agreed on 200 pesos.

In the room, she provided a solid session that I very much enjoyed. She did ask for the money up front which I find annoying. This is a frequent request here. I told her that I don't pay up front, but would place the money on the dining room table in my apartment hotel for her to pick-up later. She was fine with that. All in all I had a good session with her and I would repeat.

I only stopped in a couple times this trip, but I thought Hook's had the best lineup of all the places I visited, although I refused to enter Black's or Hippopotamus (Madahos currently and possibly permanently shuttered) because of their ridiculous cover fees.

My best session in both looks and service was from a former Hippo's lady working at Hook. She wanted 1000 pesos, more than I normally would pay at Hook, but she was well worth it.

Sounds like the old $200 US / session from 2000 / 2001 time frame with the official rate of about 5 / 1.

If we use 10 to 1 as the exchange rate, the your cost was about $100 US.

Oh for the old days of 2002 to 2004 where the ladies mind set was still in pesos, and the rate was 4 to 1, but ladies would still do 200 pesos which worked our to about $50 US / session.

Time moves on.

Went to Bs As twice this year as AA had ridiculously cheap fares in business. Hook was my club of choice and went there 7 nights over the 2 visits as it was a 5 mins walk to my hotel. No entrance charge. Beers were ARP$90-100 but I found a generous pour of Havana Club 7 year old at ARP$150 to be better value. Female bartender is very cool, chatty and even gave me a rum and coke on the house when I was waiting for my last girl. Girls were decent and most have to do a pole dance with bikinis on a rota so you get to check the bodies out. I thought the girls were termas quality in looks but's it's more a 1-2 hours deal after leaving the club. Rates varied from R$600-800 which given I was getting ARP$8.5 : US$1 was fine by me. Service was good to very good. All of them BBBJ and 2 of the girls BBFS.

Last time I was in Hook was 11 years ago. I had fun there and the prices were A LOT lower back then due to the recent peso devaluation.

Back then BA was really "trending" among CH board members. Now it seems few go there anymore. I remember a waiter telling me about a fairly prominent US pro golfer, who shall remain nameless, who had done some of the trolas at Hook during a South American tour stop.

I ended up pulling a "vampiresa" out of there and hitting a no-tell hotel around the corner. It was nice. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Hook's location is very convenient--safe part of a world-class city.

Cheers, and whilst prices for drinks are up in peso terms I can handle US$40-60 for 4 drinks when there's no entrada plus you can leave after one if it's dead. I did check out Ness and Cattos but didn't see anything I liked.

BTW I meant to say rates were ARP$600-800. Too used to posting wrt Brasil . I'm sure you can get girls for ARP$400-600 in BS As but I'd rather see them dancing unclothed then have a drink and a chat to read the chemistry. FWIW I found Fri. and Sat. to be much busier. Sun. was a lot quieter but I hung in there and a solid 9 came in after a previous pull. She was the hottest of all 7, very cool (lots of making out in the bar and we're still in touch by email) so it worked out okay but Sunday may not always be the best night. Bs As is back on my radar as it offers some great value wrt hotels / restaurants with a happy ending for dessert.

No worries, been a short 10 years since we were drinking in Balcony. It's a different more relaxed vibe to Brasil. Nice sleep in a comfortable Marriott bed, maybe a freelancer recommended on another Argentina dedicated forum followed by a nice steak or Italian e.g. Sotto Voce, then take in a club. Obviously the key to making it good value is to get the black (blue) market rather than the official rate.
