I am heading to BA for my first time in November. I travel to Rio every couple of months and after reading the reports I have decided to give BA a shot. Can someone recomend a hotel for under 150 dollars a night that is girl friendly down there. Perhaps the Sheraton?

Thanks

Try this url for good rates at the Sheraton and other 5 star hotels. I don't know for certain about the Sheraton, but the Sheraton Liberatador is chica friendly....as are most hotels in BA, provided you register for a double.

I am staying at the Hotel Plaza Francia, for about $55 night including breakfast and taxes. Outside rooms are a little noisy from traffic, but the staff is friendly. They have a webpage at http://www.hotelplazafrancia.com/, and answer their emails pretty fast.

La Etoile is a better location (don´t have to walk up the hill), but they are pretty full, this weekend anyway!

From secondhand report that I have, it is a decent place. I do understand that they might keep an ID of the chica who is visiting you.

I was looking at the Escorts Argentina website and under "Hotel-Tourism," they're offering the Wilton Hotel for US$40 per night (inclusive of all taxes!). The photos of the place and the services and facilities available look impressive. The location is good and since it's on Escorts Argentina's website, it must be chica friendly.

I couldn't find any "reviews" on this hotel on ClubHombre or any other website. Does anyone have any personal experience with this hotel that they'd like to share?

Thanks!

Several months ago, I stayed at the Park Elegance Kempinski Hotel on Ave. Pueyrredon. The room was shabby and had a very small bathroom. The furniture and carpet were in poor condition. Due to some construction noise from an adjacent building, the staff moved me to a different room and it was in no better condition than the first room.
The location was excellent. Only a few blocks from the center of Recoleta. There are many shops along Av. Pueyrredon and I always felt safe during the day and early at night.
The staff was very friendly and security was excellent. Visitors were required to sign-in and leave their national ID card at the front desk. Upon exiting the hotel, the staff would call me to make sure everything was ok. I would not stay at this hotel again due to the poor condition of the property.
I checked out for future visits the Dazzler, Etoile, and several apartment hotels which charge about the same rate as the Kempinski Park Elegance. They all were much nicer properties.

buffer,

If the Dazzler and Etoile are nicer, than the Park Elegance must really be run down....

Check out the Belair on Arenales, Art Suites on Azcuenaga, or Mayla Apartments on Rod.Pena. All are nicer than the properties you mention and in the same price range and general vicinity.

Or go downtown and try the Holiday Inn Express on Alem, the Howard Johnsons on Florida, Argenta Towers on Juncal,or any one of the several NH Hotels in the downtown area. Again, they are nicer and in the same price range....HOJO's will take 15 percent off your bill if you are an AARP member....The rate at Holiday Inn is 45dollars IF you are a AAA member (65 or so if you are not)....See if Mayri from argentinago can get you a discount at the Argenta tower where rates are normally 75per night...my agent got me a 55anight rate last time I stayed there, with a very good breakfast included.

Pirate,

You mentioned Bel Air. Do you (or anyone for that matter) know if they are guest friendly? I'm in BA for a short stay over Nov 12th-15th. Had Mayra looking for me and she suggested the Bel Air.

As an aside, I'd be interested to meet up with some fellow maniacs while I'm there...

You are what you is...

Almost all hotels in BA are guest friendly if you register for a double. If you are working with Mayra you can aske her to confirm this about the Bel Air. I have been in the rooms at the Bel Air and have met others for drinks in the bar, but have not stayed there personally. For the money, a good hotel in an excellent location.

Thanks Pirate,

I realized I was being a bit stupid right after I submitted the message. My room was booked as a double...

It's only my 2nd visit to BA, and the last time I used one of Godfather's apartments - so I wasn't sure what to think about the hotel but your comments helped a lot.

Anyway, thanks again!

Comparison on two hotels?

Wilton Palace?
Dazzler?

Location, rooms, etc....

Thanks

Wilton Palace. Great Location on Callao, not far from both the nightlife of Recoleta village and Ave. Santa Fe shopping . The rooms are a little on the dated side, but the price is right.

Dazzler. Recently remodeled, though the rooms are smallish. Not actually in either downtown or Recoleta, but within walking distance of both.....just a couple of blocks from Excedra.

By Ceenotes on Saturday, September 04, 2004 - 10:21 am:  Edit

Pirate,

So the Dazzler is more centered around everything, over the Wilton. (Centering, meaning Downtown, florida, cafes, good rest and of course mongering).
Where would you stay, judging on the ideal location?
I don't want to rely on taxi's, everywhere I go.

Thanks,
CN

Greetings:

I am currently booked at Plaza Francia in a Jr Suite, based on a couple of airline magazine recommendations. Anybody stay here before...cost is $98 USD including taxes and breakfast....can I do better...I don't want to go crazy since I will be spending the following week over New Years in Rio at premium prices. Many thanks

Which apartments or hotels in Buenos Aires are preferred for hobbysists as of late? Any URLs or discount reservation sites would also be appreciated.

Is there a decent hotel in the Microcenter area? Thanks.

By Jerente on Monday, November 17, 2008 - 09:27 pm:  Edit

Try the Hotel Principado on Paraguay street.
Chica friendly, free breakfast, wireless, and 1 block from the Orleans Cafe.

By Ardgneas on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 - 07:26 pm:  Edit

I stayed at The Plaza (former Marriott) in San Martin as it's close to the cafes and clubs in Microcentro. Definitely still guest friendly even though I booked solo. No problems at all even in the afternoon. Most girls were registered (voluntarily), some were not asked depending on how they looked. Not a Marriott now per se but still earns Marriott points.

Does anyone know of any chica friendly hotels in the Microcenter area? And are most hotels friendly toward bringing ladies back...I heard if you book your room for two, it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks.

Going to BA in January, considering which hotel to book. Do some of them cause problems if you invite a chica? For example, there are some nice hotels close to the cemetery in Ricoleta, such as Ayres Recoleta Plaza, etc. Can someone give me an advice?

There is also a small hotel attached somehow to the Anchorena SW club. Does anybody know what it it is like? The photos on their website show no windows...

This thread has not been continued for a year, apparently. Is there still some life in BA?

Hotel Etole didn't have problem or charge for visitors. It was same at Ibis hotel. You might have to sign them in when you bring them in.
