Excerpt from 2002/10 Excat - Bare Eyes
El Pardo Hotel, 5-star
It is located on Ave. Jose Pardo, with main entrance on a side street, Independencia. Cost was a special rate of $85 plus 28%, a total of $110. The room was good, but the 5-star rating was probably for the service, namely, at-the-ready desk clerk, doorman, uniformed security guard, and one and sometimes two plainclothes security. A doorman claimed that I would have no problem or extra charge for a lady friend. Since female employees were on duty to at least 11pm, I would suggest bringing a friend back no earlier than 12 midnight.

RT here. This is a Doubletree brand hotel with all the convienences you'd expect. It's on the high end of costly for Lima (the days of an $85 room are long gone), but some people feel happier with a Hilton-family hotel with an English-speaking front desk staff and are willing to pay for it.
I can confirm that the hotel is indeed chica-friendly. I was with a friend when he called an agency to send him a girl. When she showed up, the front desk called up to the room to announce her. My friend told them to send her up, and up she came.

RT here. I walked in with a girl last night (or early this morning, depending on your point of view).
The two security guards said hello to me, but did not make my date check in. She was surprised, but she said she had never been in this hotel before.
Someone wrote me last week and asked about the DT's guest policy -- now we know.

RT here. Yesterday, my daytime visitor was held at the front desk until I came down to get her -- they also made her sign in but did not ask for ID.
My nighttime guest was stopped by the security guard who took her ID card, but did not have her or me sign anything. When she left, the front desk called to make sure that it was OK with me that she left.
So I guess that the guest policy goes by the whim of whoever's working; I suggest that you just go with the flow if you stay here.
Also, I finally tried the free breakfast yesterday -- it was a buffet and it didn't suck.
