Tuesday midnight, at CASANOVA, near San Isidro and east of Via Expresa. Paid the apparent standard admission charge for the better clubs of 50 soles, which included two beers or one drink. Saw 12 girls, who seemed chilly in their two-piece dance outfits. There were also five customers. A rather quiet night in spite of the loud music. I mentioned this club, because it was new to me and it was hidden on a side street within walking distance of the well-known clubs in San Isidro.

On my first trip to Peru, Casanova would have received my top nightclub recommendation for quality of selection, but the return visit was only average. Best location to browse the ladies seems to be the circular bar near the front, that is if you can find a seat not occupied by one of the ladies. Total costs should run $50-$70 USD plus $100 USD or whatever you can negotiate with the lady. Several other nightclubs are also close by.

RT here. I made a stop at Casanova Club tonight as well as Eclipse. Casanova's in a larger building -- I couldn't figure out if they were going for the castle look or what, but it looked nice from the outside.

The admission was 50 Soles, and that included a drink. There was probably close to 25 girls in the club when I got there at 11 and they don't mob you like a pack of wild piranhas when you walk in. I sat at the bar and watched the occasional stripper when she was on stage.

Eventually, I forged a friendship with this one girl. We went to a couch and I proceeded to buy her two expensive drinks. She showed her gratitude by spending the better part of an hour grinding away at me, making out, and telling me just how cute I am. She didn't take 'no' for an answer to her suggestion that we go private very easily, but hey -- it's her job. She was good-natured enough about it (and a good kisser) that we have a tentative date scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

I liked this club a lot, considering what it is. For this type of place, the hustle factor was relatively low (but it was there, don't get me wrong), the music wasn't too loud, the girls were pretty, and the staff was fairly friendly. The only down side was that the waiter asked me for a tip when I paid the check. I then asked him if he thought that I was either stupid or had never been to club before. He really had no answer to that, so I saved myself a tip.

The club is not on a very well-traveled street, so be prepared to be ripped off by the taxi driver sitting in front, drooling on you as you exit. I had hired my own driver for the night, so I have no clue how greedy the waiting taxi driver was planning to get.
