I was with my future ex GF last night in the jacuzzi and the subject of relationships came up in conversation. Being one that hates the "R" word I quickly decide to change the subject.

"What is the difference between an amiga, an amiga con derechos and a novia?"

Here is the essnce of her response;

Amiga-A girl that is a friend. OK to go out, go places, do things but sex is not expected.

Amiga with derechos- a girl that is a friend but you are also having sex. "REGALOS" are expected in the form of clothes, money, gifts etc. They do not consider themselves prepagos or putas.

Novias-Full on committed relationship (although she mentioned none of the Colombianos had only one...he he). Gotta call her 2-3 times per day, spend almost all your time with them, take thm places, be seen in public holding hands and/or kissing and is as close to being engaged as it gets. Novias give all of themselves to their novios....all!

So I looked at her and said, "I guess you are my amiga with derechos?" She nodded! I just kinda smiled and liked the positioning. Works for me.

So, we started talking about the different levels of working girls;

Putas-Street girls. Stand in hotel doors, work the streets for usually little money and fuck many men per day; Families and BF's generally know what they do to earn money.

MP's-Putas but they "normally" work a regular schedule, stay in one place (although occasionally available for take out or after work). Considered a little more upscale than a SW; Most of their families do not know what kind of work they do. Many only work part time to supplement income.

Prepagos-Escorts for incalls. Usually a little classier girl and only works when a client calls and schedules her in advance. Also usually higher priced. Lots of college students and non working moms.

I guess I have a couple of Amigas (that I hope to get derechos with someday), a couple of amigas con derechos, zero novias and a hell of a penchant for changing the subject when an uncomfortable subject comes up during a moment of intimacy......LOL

P.S. The jacuzzi works just fine for it's primary and secondary intended uses. Paisas dig em!

This post is killing me. Last night Sandman was sitting in his jacuzzi with a lovely paisa. Last night I was sitting in my den drinking beer and tormenting myself with memories of such great times, fun that was NOT available to me last night. The only thing I had to celebrate was the sucessful retrieval of my flyrod. Compared to Sandman's evening, my evening really sucked.

I booked two flights last night. Dammit, I can't let that guy have all of the fun. I have been flying for good times for so long I get a woody each time I sign on to an airline website.

The sad part of all this is when the gringo thinks he is the novio and to the chica he is an amigo con derechos. It happens all too frequently to Norte Americanos. Be careful boyz...

There is a medical condition that occurs evey time any of us leaves Medellin its called Medellin Withdrawls. There are only 2 cures for it
1.) Time if enough time goes by then the memories begain to disipate. Now if you have taken photos and video that makes the withdrawl symptoms worse.

2) Get yer ass back to Medellin as soon as possible. This is the only true way to affect a complete recovery. Now once you leave again you have to repeat #'s 1 & 2

LL-You are dead on right buddy. They think they are novios but are only amigos con derechos. I guess I was glad I cleared it up directly with her. It's the way I wanted it anyway.

I'm hitting the Portuguese cd,s hard right now, I leave in 3 days. That way I can conduct inteligent interviews with all future X's. And with the new visa laws I'll be able to bring her here, buy her a house, and a car, and give her half, correction, 75% of my money. Then she too can truly feel like an X.
Its so much beter that way then to buy her a trinket or two for a few days and get it out of my system and go home and fantasize about my next trip.
