Stayed in this place for the last 8 nights. Got a room on the top floor and with a decent internet connection. Its a pretty standard 3 star hotel and things a pretty much plain and standard. The room is decent and clean and maintained well. Its within walking distance to everything around Paulista. On the weekdays, unfortunately you can hear the traffic in the room after 9 in the morning and at nights till about midnight. Then again I only paid $600 Cdn for it and I think its a steal for the money I am paying (booked it through expedia.com)

The staff in the hotel are fantastic. All speak English and so far have gone out of their way to help me and make my stay comfortable. They are SP friendly and discrete. So far they have catered to all my odd requests, like bringing in a crate of guarana and coconut juice, making all the dinner reservations when I went on dates, suggesting the different local foods and which places to try out local foods, suggestions for going out, shopping etc. Everyday I ask them a ton of questions and they never get bored/bothered with the volume and spend bit of time explaining things and making suggestions. The cleaning staff are always on time and keep the room clean (So far I have failed miserably in convincing them not to fold my clothes if they find it strewn in the morning, and they go ahead and do it and arrange the closet ignoring me). Nothing has gone missing and they always keep asking if there is anything I want. On my birthday (the 27th) , they made a cake for me and got me to drink a local sugarcane extract alcohol (never ever ever ever chug the drink like a shooter, it burns and you get seriously high) in the morning and took care of arrangements for my dinner date at a place called ( a figueira rubyaiyat), made sure the I had a discrete and secluded dinner table, arranged the wines and pre-ordered certain dishes to try out and got me a discount.

They hooked me up with a young taxi driver by the name of Jonas to take me around. He is young and single and I've had a blast traveling to various parts of the city with him. He has limited english, but most of the time we were talking using our hands about girls so we were okay and language was not issue. He is a funny guy and one afternoon took me around for free to check out the girls from the local colleges.
You can contact him @ 11-9231-5594 (his cell) if you want to stay with a single taxi driver. He never charged me extra, always got me on time ( a feat in Sao Paulo in my reckoning) and was always game to have fun. He kept showing pictures of girls to hook up with, but I declined as I already had plans with a local girl. If you like 18-20 year olds, he seems to be a good source but can't vouch for the girls.

Staff: 10/10 (I like the current staff members)
Gym/Pool: 1/10 (don't even bother using them)
Breakfast buffet: 6/10 (Same choice every morning)
Value for the dollar: 8/10

You can get better places to stay in SP in the same class, but I think the staff are one of the best I have dealt with. I really don't care for the place but will continue to come back until the current staff is in place. If the current staff is gone, I would choose the place only if I were on lean budget and nothing else was available.
