I'm trying to go to Cartagena on or about March 20th from the Washington, D.C. area. The better flights (fares and times) route me to Barranquilla. Any one have any idea of the taxi fare between the two cities? Is bus service a reasonable option?

Hey man this may be a little late, but the best option is to take a taxi and take the bus. I am colombian and go to barranquilla twice a year. A taxi from the airport to the bus station will charge you 13000 pesos, about six dolares and then the bus to cartagena is 20000 pesos 9 dolares, its about a 2 hour trip. If you take a taxi they will charge you aroung 80 dollares. Don't worry bus transportation between barranquilla and cartagena is very safe.

Even easier, when you get to Cartagena airport, call marsol, they will pick you up at the airport or any part of cartagena and delivery you at your destination.
