One of the things that always drove me crazy about Rio is that all the flights are at 7-11pm, which means that most of the hotels will charge you a full days rate even though you might leave by 5pm. Is it possible to store your luggage at a terma? I am thinking of checking out of my hotel at 1, arriving at 4X4 around 2pm, storing my bags, and the enjoying myself until I leave. Is 4X4 near the airport? If so, I can stay at the terma until 5 or 6pm, nice way to finish off my vacation.

People have mentioned Luomo holding your luggage.
As far as I know hotels will hold your luggage even if you check out at 1:00 PM. I would just keep passport at all times with me day of departure. At this time of year, flights are around 11:00 pm, another advantage so you can stay enjoy yourself till 9:00 pm.

I don't know about 4 x 4 but Luomo held my luggage until I left for the airport about 8:00 pm for the 11:00 flight. What a way to spend your last evening in Rio. It was very difficult to walk out of Luomo and say goodbye to all the beautiful Garota's and my buddies who were staying over. Yeah they were celebrating UWPhoto birthday. I slept like a baby on that flight after doing BIA before I left. God I love that place. Hemp

It's definately a good idea to do the Terma in the afternoon before an evening flight-helps to sleep better on the flight. I've had Solarium and Luomo hold my bags for me. I'm not sure about 4x4, I'd just ask them when you're there.

I can confirm Dood's remark (see above), 4x4 will hold your luggage. I gave a small tip to the locker room lady also, besides calling her "mi amor" and "a minha mae"

You can add Aeroporto to the list of baggage-holding termas.
