Seems like Colombia is on the brink of war with Venezuela and Ecuador. I was wondering, if you are in Colombia already, what is the general census and feeling and setiment overall within the locals and/or towards gringos? Also if you plan to travel recently do you have any reservations? I am scheduled to travel this weekend and am worried that the commercial airlines will stop service to and from Colombia during war and I would get stuck there. Oh yeah, Im also worried about dodging bullets in the streets. lol

I have been in Colombia since September of last year. Hugo is full of hot air. I have no plans to leave before my scheduled summer vacation in the US starting in June.

Copacabana, I can't wait to read your trip report - we are thinking about taking a side trip up to Santa Marta. Need to decide if it is worth the effort to leave Cartagena.

I had to postpone my trip to Cali, it was scheduled for election week. I had to postpone for other reasons though. I have not however, even considered cancelling for reasons of saftey.
I hope to get there before my Rio trip in late May.
