I'm looking for a hotel in Lima. Each one I look at has a killing point to it. So I made a list of what's important to me. Here's my list, anyone have a hotel that can gets most of these. The price and jazucci would not be deal killers, but the rest probably would be.

1. Guest friendly in good location
2. King Bed
3. Quite room
4. Internet in the room
5. Room is safe, I need to bring my laptop
6. Under $100 a night ~$75 would be perfect
7. Jazucci in room

RT here. With 1-5 being MUSTS,and 6-7 wants, I would point you to the Residencial Las Americas.

1. Location -- 10 feet from the rear entrance to Pizza Alley
2. King bed - yes
3. Quiet Room - the ones facing the street can be noisy. The rear rooms are fine, and if you close the windows and run the A/C, it drowns out the street noise.
4. Internet - Yes
5. Security - no issues
6. Right around $100 if yous shop the consolidators. More if you just call them and book.
7. Jacuzzi - nope.

Many people like the Maria Luisa. It was a little too basic for me. i don't know about their internet capabilities, and the rooms are not air conditioned.

Does this hotel Residencial Las Americas go by another name? Everyplace I search it comes up $400+ a night for room.

Bluelight,
Stayed twice at CFK's favorite, Hotel San Marteen.
Very nice Apt. hotel I had King, full kitchen, living room w/dining room, lg bathroom, wireless above the 6th floor, a/c, free breakfast, in room safe, left my laptop out the entire time on the dinning room table. I never even had a chocolate disapear. not a hint of concern about bringing in company and we bring them in in groups lol. PM CFK he can get you 70 a night. Its a safe 5 block walk to PA.
Bliss is there now pm him and ask his opinion.

Yes, it does.

And the consolidators that I used to use aren't carrying them any more.

Something is rotten in Denmark.

Wow....the Dollar is a real brick....the Soles is
2.79 today.....Most of the postings on Peru Hotels
were when the Soles was more like 3.4....

Are there any decent Lima hotels, well located near the action that go for around $50 a night?

I like the sound of the 'San Isiddro--Suites Hotel
Inkari' or Lexus.

Anybody have current info/rates on these hotels or
or can recommend one that fits?

Try the Las Palmas - it's only 1 block from Pizza Alley, close to the park, and the rate was $35 a night. Yes, the walls are a bit thin, and on Saturday night it can get loud, but you're supposed to be out partying, aren't you? I was there for 10 days total, and was treated very well. Avoid the restaurant - not worth it. There are too many good places to eat just blocks away.
Try Shehabi for breakfast - they hava a really cute Azafata (hostess) named Jasmine. And good food. They have live music some nights too.
