A hard choice this year, the dollar is so week and I only want to spend $40-50 for a hotel.

I was thinking of back to Panama City or Sosua or maybe try
Phuket.......but the Lima crew has got me goin.

CFK has done everything in his power, short of moving there, to fuck up the deal in Peru. Due to the high number of mongers infiltrating Peru I have decided my next trip is going to be Haiti. The dollar is at an all time high there and you can rent a hut for dirt cheap. Also you can get all nighters for 5 Gourdes. I will post a trip report upon my return, IF I return.

I took me all of ten minutes to hook up with two blondes at TR San Isidro last night. Ridiculous! Hemp, any place that requires ten minutes to hook up a blonde dupla is not worth visiting. Clearly, it is the same as if there were no blondes as CFK stated. Let me repeat that, do not go to Lima. It is so bad that I probably will not return before 6-8 weeks have passed.

And it will take more than appliances for one of our other acquaintances to hook up. No need for him here.

It WAS very tight in there on Friday and Saturday nights, less so since then. Not all of the persons are coming over from Miraflores but a nice selection of them are. I was told by a miraflores bartender (temporarily working San Isidro) that the Miraflores location MIGHT reopen tonight.

Possibly the other two locations are absorbing some of the Miraflores customers.

LL, no, it was on my to-do list to internally and externally hose down your allstar but the list quickly became two long for a 7 day trip to get all of those things done. What did happen though, is that when walking through Larcomar, the shop girl recognized me as being the guy with the guy who 'loved to shop' (unlike what you told some of your other gfs). She had tried to call you but there was no answer on your phone. I told her that you had been abruptly called back to the states for an emergency mission what will save earth. She said that she will pray for your survival and hopes you will be in Lima soon. She looked so hot that day I thought about buying some jewelry myself and give her MY number.

Btw, the Mont Blanc came home courtesy of Yessica. She retrieved it from where it had gone. Good, honest and passionate gal, Yessica.

TR San Isidro TR continued to be the place. Miguel gave me my own reserve/reservado marker to put wherever I want to sit on future trips.

Pizza Alley waitresses continue to be very tasty, particularly when taken to a hotel.

We need to get another lima trip planned soon.

Why don't you go on Good Morning America and tell the whole world how good Lima is ??? With a little luck the place will become over run with the "ugly American types" and maybe you can tell the hardcore hookers in the Dominican Republic and Colombia to visit Lima and bring their 1 hour time limit and mandatory condom policy with them. that way we can have two Del Rey's.

that's waaaay too early for me to get up. OK, it has been brought to my attention that I possibly made statements indicative that Peru, specifically Lima, was an excellent place to visit. Apparently, this has caused quite an increase in board members booking hotels and flights to said city. I now acknowledge my method of calculation was FLAWED, FLAWED I say and hope all concerned will immediately cancel all present and future trips with undo haste. Your fear and concerns stated above are ABSOLUTELY grounded! What the hell was I thinking? Two Del Rey's, holy crap. I will have my People PM/email each and every member to discourage said trips. BTY< are we still going in May AFTER are Rio trip in 2 weeks?

Cebu, there are a lot of persons of asian heritage in Lima. It is difficult for me to differentiate for sure but it seems that there are more persons of Japanese heritage than chinese. I cannot back this up with hard sources hoewever. While there are some neighborhoods where asians are the predominate residents, Lima is a healthy mixture of heritages working and playing together as peruvians. My moraility says that is the way that it should be.

I hope you have a grand time with persons of all heritages during your visit.

The Japanese were the first to arrive in Peru and their off-springs have integrated (and married) successfully into the Peruvian society and culture. I was at a hospital in Lima and I was reading a list of the doctors that included a Juan Yamashiro, Roberto Tanaka, etc. Like the former President, there are also many politicians, lawyers, and other professionals who are of Japanese descent.

With the younger generation, there aren't too many pure blooded Japanese. I've meet a few women who were of Japanese / Peruvian descent.

I was told that north of Lima, there's a small town whose residents are almost completely of Japanese descent. I couldn't find it, but there is a small town called "Okinawa," which was founded and inhabited by immigrants from Okinawa.

The Chinese are late comers compared to the Japanese and they haven't integrated as well. A common complaint that I heard in Peru (and Ecuador, Argentina) was that the Chinese were opening stores and restaurants, but weren't learning Spanish. Most stay to themselves in "Chinatown."

Being of Japanese and Chinese descent, I'm fairly good at telling the difference. Most of the young Japanese that I met in Peru were tourists. I did meet a bunch of young and attractive South Koreans, but it turned out they were all Christian missionaries (they are everywhere in the world!) so I didn't waste my time with them.

First, thank you everyone (esp Vladamir) for the guides to Lima! I'll be in Lima/Cusco for the first 2 weeks of April - uhhh, "for a wedding" if you are one of the female fatties who works in my office here in the States.

Are there any recent updates or experiences that the esteemed group care to share with a SA newbie? (My world has been limited to only Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, and of course the SFO AMPs.)

Any additional or recent information will be greatly appreciated!
