Sometimes it is nice to get out of the city and see some of the surrounding countryside. My buddy Relapse and I took a couple of dates to Santa Fe De Antioquia a few weekends ago and it turned into a really fun day.

We are going to hit this place in El Penol in the next week or so. American guy (monger) owns the place and it is very guest friendly. I would imagine a good sized party with a bunch of friends could easily be arranged. Hummm, festas in Medllin? I wonder why my mind thinks about things like that? Anybody want in???

Nice link. I went to both places and they are great places to hang out. I loved the fresh fruit at Santa Fe Antioquia. This is really nice looking town. A little hot.

I thought the town was Guatape and El Penol was the big rock formation. When I went to Guatape in November, it was during the week, it was really dead. I think the weekends may be more alive.

You can really have a blast if you rent one of those party boats. Wish I was there. Sandman, you have fun. Post some pictures.

We took a day tour to El Penol. We hired a taxi for 300,000 and hung out for the day.

I suspect the boat rates are backwards. As posted, they are $85/person/night for one person, and $408/person/night for six people.

I took my gf In medellin to a beautiful hotel in Santa Elena for the night, they have a lake, rappellilng, intersting butterfly museum, rowing on the lake is romantic. Fireplace at bar. Very nice 1 hour trip from Medellin to go with someone special. Dont have the name handy, it is like a nature preserve... all food included for like 350k pesos per night for two...
