Can anyone recommend any good hotels in Salvador that are guest friendly and close to all the action? I know most of the action is in Barra. Is that correct? Thanks

Thanks JR. I will check that site out. I will be in Rio in September for three weeks. In April I'm going to the DR for 5 days. Wish I was going to Brazil sooner but I'm being patient and keeping my eyes on the prize

hey creolking...the DR is an underrated fun place too. i think the women there are fantastic , sexy and friendly. if you like big juicy racks...that's the place! so let me know what you think of vrbo? i just rented a real nice place in Rio from that site for April....JR

Johnnyroc, That site seems very cool. I like a lot of the properties I saw on there. I like to stay in places that look a certain way and where I would feel comfortable. The places on that site were up to my standards. I usually use http://thewonderfulcity.com/default.asp or riorentals4less.com. The DR is a great place for a litttle quick trip. Only about 2 hours from Miami and yes I like big racks. When I don't feel like doing that long journey to Brasil I go to the DR. I'm coming from California.

JR....Which place on the site did you rent?

Creolking....i found the place on vrbo but here is the owners web site .. www.myriocondo.com . it is a real nice 3 br on ave atlantica , near the rio othon palace. i dont usually like to stay right in the mix, but the penthouse i usually rent is not available and my second choice in ipanema was only available part of the time. I like DR a lot.i have been to puerta plata a few times and i think the value is definitely there. i met a perfect 10 at crystals , got her number and spent 2 days with her. i think i gave her the equivalent of $180 plus food, drinks ,etc. plus there is a ton of daytime action at the bars and outdoor cantinas.but that was 2 1/2 years ago. i hope you take a lot of photo's and write a good trip report.

Johnnyroc...I like the place! Very very nice. That is the kind of place I like to stay in when I am traveling. Funny thing is I probably have walked past this place many times and never noticed it. This is one thing you and i are different on, I like to stay in the mix or at least not too far from it so this apartment would be right up my alley. I'll be staying in Boca Chica in the DR and doing quick runs to Santo Domingo and Sosua. I have two special chicas waiting for me in Boca Chica. I'll take plenty of photos and give you the whole scoop on my trip

Creoleking1 - I was there last week. I stayed at Ibis hotel next to the Mercure hotel. I booked the room on the Accor website for $125R/night. No extra charge for visitors. There aren't that many clubs in Salvador. Eros and Free Night were the ones I went to do. There were other smaller clubs. Don't expect anything special there. It is only a little better than clubs in TJ with about the same girls. The escorts are very expensive at around $200R and up. There are privy with so-so looking girls. This was my second trip and don't plan to return. I am in Curitiba right now which is better than Salvador in number of clubs, girls, and the cost. Keep in mind that 90% of the girls in club are mulatas so if you are looking for various type of girls, your choice are limited.

Thanks Kojak. I might check that hotel out. I'm getting mixed reviews of Salvador that's why I'm going to check it out for myself. I personally prefer mulatas and negras so " chocolate city" would be perfect for me. I know its not like Rio but its time for me to do something different in Brasil now
