Just like when I lived in Rio (or anywhere else for that matter) one gets tired of the same old day in and day out routines and wants to branch out and explore a little.
A few weeks ago, a buddy and I headed out for a day in Santa Fe De Antioquia and had a really good time. The old city is quaint, the drive getting there was nothing short of spectacular scenery, stopping at small restaurants along the way to sample some of the finest smoked meats I have ever tasted and drinking rum in the city square with a couple of hotties. Well, it was a fun diversion.
Then, a buddy introduced me to this guy who has a hotel and 72 Ft. boat in El Penol that does lake tours, private parties etc. I was a little skeptical but decided to check it out. Well, was I ever surprised. This guy actually built this boat. It is a floating party boat 72 ft. long. Has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, salon downstairs. Upstairs is a huge deck, heated jacuzzi, BBQ grill, lots of room for dancing partying and whatever. It even has a sliding board on the stern.
Going to a party there this weekend and will report back with some photos.(supposedly there are 10 unattached chicas coming as well...he he)
The owner asked if I would post his web site and I agreed. www.elpenoltours.com
Maybe a new breed of Colombian Festa offering in the making.....? He is even open to some all inclusive suggestions but wants to keep a low profile.
