I had an 11:00 pm date one weeknight. Well, she didn't show until just after one am. It was OK; I was playing blackjack.

The problem was -- she wanted to go out and get a drink. But between the late time, the closings for the cumbre, and my unwillingness to take a girl to Tequila Rock, the choices were limited.

We wound up on the second floor of the Atlantic City Casino in the Karaoke room.

This was really hi-tech karaoke. They had two wireless mikes, big screens on the wall that showed the words, really comfy couches, and a stage if you just needed to go up front and belt one out.

The selection were both in English and Spanish, and there were some talented people there that night. There were probably 40 people in the club: me & my date, four or five other couples, a few 'group dates', and a couple of sets of 'girls night out'. Incredibly, not an ugly chick in the room.

This place isn't the cheapest on earth -- it is a 35 Sol minimum per person. We didn't get near the 70 Soles. My bottle of water was 5 soles, and each of my date's two drinks were 20 Soles. But, it was still worth the $25 for the hour and a half that we were there: we had a good time.

I have no idea what the hours are. We left at almost 3:00 am, and the place showed no signs of stopping.

Would I return? Under the right set of circumstances, yes. Should you go? Of course you should. You're on vacation -- have fun!

I had a great time there. I took my favorita to La Rosa Nautica for a great dinner and Karoke after and had a blast. First class place. Not only that but there were lots and lots of drunk girls partying with no men in tow. Could be a good spot to try some non-pro mongering.
Another spot that looked excellent for non-pro action was the disco above the Bohemia restaurant. lots of women, all ages, and great music.

Lima is definitely a place to find non pro talent, even for us older (and in my case bigger heavier) guys.

I think by the time we had to go we had a good routine, it will never be Brazil, but it was worth a visit.

I've been to Rio more than five times and have never enjoyed a terma run there as much as I enjoyed my time at Relax y Vida.

I love photos, you might notice I've posted a few. I just ask. I don't usually leave the Greater Lima area, so I'm not sure. If your Spanish is good, you probably would want to call one or two of the taxi companies to get a feel for it. If you Spanish isn't good, have someone call who's fluent, but be sure to coach him so he doesn't just say, "OK" to whatever he's quoted. I get the feeling that this is pretty negotiable.

The guys outside the better hotels will charge a LOT more, but they have nice cars. It all depends on what you need and who you're trying (if anyone) to impress.

Let us know what you find out... you're probably not the only guy with this question.

Tequila Rock no longer rocks

I travel 2 sometimes 3 times a year, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. The list of countries would be much longer but I could not get Peru out of my blood. It was easily the best bang for your buck. If I was to make a list of my best nights, the list would be long before another country appeared.

That was then and this is now. I can now add Peru to the TOP of my WORST nights. How can a place go from such a gem to the bottom of the list in such a short time? Simply put. I’m done with TR. You’re better off hitting the night clubs, it might be a little more expensive but with my experience the service is much better.

My worst night Gal said she was from Colombia, tall thin nice breasts. Definitely in the top class. I almost fell off the bar stool when she asked 500 soles, but she told me she had only been in Peru 1 week so maybe the price was ignorance. So we finally agred to $120 American, much to my surprise BBBJ and photos. Once we arrived at the apartment she asked for her money, normally not a problem here (sorry living in the past) She looked at me and said we agred to 500 soles. My first thought was send her away, maybe settle for a cold shower. It took a few minutes to finally agree again. A little voice was screaming to send her away, should have listened.
