I started hitting Sosua (43 trips) in 1997 and Cartengna (1 trip) in 2005, Medellin (6 trips) in 2006.


The plane fares (5 hour direct) to Colombia are around $600 - $750 while Sosua (3 hour direct) was under $400.


Medellin has about 3.3 million people vs 100,000 in the greater Puerto Plata area.

In Sosua I was staying at the New garden for $50 a night and now I stay in laurelas Medellin, for about $65 a night, but that includes breakfast for 2.

I have a choice of a few 1,000 good restaurants in Medellin vs crappy food in Sosua with a few okay restaurants.

Sosua is a small place so you can take motos around, while it could take you 45 minutes to get from one end of Medellin to the other but there are 33,000 taxis there and a metro system.

Finding chicas, in Medellin, well that could take pages and pages but I usually start at the casas, I know of about 35, but there may be 2-3 times that many.

I will add to this over the next few days.

One of the biggest differences I see so far with Colombia is that the chicas will look at the entire package offered to them.

One chica wanted 250,000 a night but I explained that I was going to be around 8 nights and I offered 100,000 per night so if it worked out, she would get 800,000 instead of 250,000 which I don't think she would have gotten. Needless to say, I am entering my third trip and she will be coming over a few of my 14 nights.

Many of the mansion chicas also came down in price as well. maybe 5% stood firm.

In Medellin, if a chica isn't hungry they won't over order while in sosua, they seem to always order shrimp regardless.

In Sosua, 50% will walk away with nothing.

If you could only visit one place in the next year, would it be Colombia or the D.R.?

I have not been back to Sosua since July 2007. I have a 3 week trip to Colombia starting next week, then 2 weeks in November.

I thought that would be the case. I was hoping the DR could be a good 3 or 4 day trip, guess not.

Well if you never been to Colombia, then 3-4 days in DR would work cause you don't know what you are missing.

The difference in price for a long weekend trip is fairly substancial imho-- especially when AA is running specials. While I would much prefer checking out ctg, I think sosua is a great 2/3 night stop to combine some relaxation, beer, and chicas.

I would rather do 9 days in Colombia than 4 in Sosua.

To continue, for some strange reason, the chicas over 28, but under 35 all look like they are in their early 20's. So, I have shifted my attention to that age group.


One day I am in the mall, chatting with a salesgirl and she tells me she is 22. I reply, I really wanted older so she goes in the back room and brings out a 28 year old to meet me.

The more that I walk around the more of Medellin I learn about and when chatting with the chicas, whom are everywhere working and more than happy to chat, they just love the fact that I have been there 6 times so far, and plan on living there one day. They are very proud of the country whereas Dominicans will go with the first guy out of DR, anywhere.

I have one problem with Colombia. I think the women of Colombia are some of the most beautiful in the world. I speak some spanish, so thats not a problem. But in the last 15 years or so almost every time I met a Colombiana she insisted on a covered blow job. And bbbj is just an absolute must for me. Now, is that the case for the girls in Colombia, or only the hard core travel girls.

You have had a run of bad luck. Many Colombianas especially those from Medellín insist on CBJs. My experiences have run around 50/50 and BBBJs are not that important to me.

If you go with a chica twice, you make the rules.

I only go to the DR when do not have much time (5 days or less), or want to go on a romp and I am short 300 for the extra miles to Colombia (or more to SEA)
