Elev 2800m, located 80km south of Quito, pop 52k. Spent one nite in this city on my way to Quilotoa. Didnt find any p4p ads in the yellow pgs or the local paper. Taxista said there are 5 chongos. Told him to drive me to the best one. Arrived at Paradisse, off the road to Quilotoa. No cover. Chicas $6-8. On the way to Paradisse, also checked out El Bosque Night Club, same price as Paradisse but only fuglies. Taxista said Tropicana is mas lujoso but is far & good only weekends.

The bus ride from Latacunga to Laguna Quilotoa took 2.5 hrs & only $2. Park entrance $2. Small hotels located inside the park. I negotiated $10 for a room including breakfast, lunch, dinner, as I didnt see many eateries in this tiny village. I asked the hotel owner the population of Quilotoa he answered 20 families. Vista point where i shot the photo was only a 2-minute walk from the hotel. Half hr to walk down to the lake, 2 hrs to hike back up. 5 hrs to circle the top of the cone by foot. Cold at nite, below 40F. Villagers very nice people. I didnt have the balls to ask where's the chongo in the village of 100, didnt want to get thrown into the volcano lake.
