Arrived at the Terminal El Chimbador 10a to catch a bus to Huaraz. Next bus to Huaraz leaving at noon, giving me 2 hrs. Asked taxista is there a chongo in Chimbote (pop 320k). He answered yes. Far? He said fare would be only s/ 5 but not open til 4p. Have to return to this city for further investigation

a yr later, returned to this city. rode taxi fr centro (s/6) to chongo thru dirt rd, past trash dump pile. door s/2, session s/15. 50 rooms. bar selling large franca beers. colectivo back to centro s/2
